The Insiders are Ben Payne (Soundscape) and Joe Wills (Static) - a dynamic drum n bass production duo from Bristol, UK. Their take on drum n bass is best described as ‘deep’ with a progressive edge, and over the past few years they have released music on some of the most pretigious labels in the scene. Tracks have appeared on Metalheadz, Creative Source, Renegade, 31 Records, Defunked, Frontline, Good Looking (as Catch 22) and Nu Directions. Ben and Joe have also showcased their DJ techniques over the years, with mix CDs on Renegade (‘Renegade Rollers’) and Nu Directions (‘Infinite in all Directions’).
Insiders tracks have featured in the boxes of a multitude of top DJs including Fabio, LTJ Bukem, Goldie, Storm, Zinc, D-Bridge, A.I. and DJ Marky. Their latest work has been receiving regular airings from Bailey and Fabio on BBC Radio.
2008 is going well for them, with work forthcoming on Integral, Mac II, Nu Directions and Creative Source. This year has been big for collaborations too, so far including work with Random Movement, Soul Intent, Mutt, Saburuko and Survival.
They are in high demand as DJs all over the world, with dates across the UK, Europe, the USA and Japan. Soundscape's Intrigue club night continues to pack it out each month at the Dojo Lounge.
