D NOVA discovers acoustic guitar at the age of eleven, getting immediately singer/songwriter. After a couple of years, he has more than 100 songs in his pockets.
He moves to the States at seventeen, reaching the country he feels closer to him, focusing on his music goals. He keeps growing up with '90s Brit Pop, Electro and Indie Rock.
That's why a strong buzz starts in the music biz and many great names of the scene are caught by him. The Major deal is signed and D NOVA gets in the studio to work on his debut. The album is directly produced by Fabrizio Barbacci (Negrita/Ligabue), responsible for a mix of Brit Pop-oriented sound and Italian modern touch.
The first Album “Cielo mio, cielo tuo” is finally released in late 2004 (JungleSoundDischi/Universal Music), with both critic and media success.
The title-track single gets immediately a heavy rotation broadcasting on MTV, while many other Networks, Radio stations, and music channels (Allmusic, DeejayTV, Match Music, Rock TV) decide to strongly support his music. The press reaction is cool.
The International music scene begins to watch him as one of the best European breakthrough artists. MTV INTERNATIONAL reviews the album with excitement: "D NOVA is a spankin' new Italian pop-rock superstar! His style is truly unique as he puts an Italian twist on the highly common Britpop […] Check out what all the hype is about.".
Therefore, he starts touring with his band around Italy, thanks to the greatest Italian booking agency Barley Arts. He soon becomes the opening act for many famous Italian artists (such as Negrita, Negramaro), and for the british band The Servant.
That said, the artist needs a break. Between 2007 and 2009 he never stops writing and producing new tracks in his workstation; D NOVA wants to build a new sound, both personal and international. These are days of focus, genius and energy, erasing the past, towards rebirth: new music, new visual, new art perspectives and consciousness.
American connections get huge and he's soon back in the States, where he feels his life and music have always been linked.
D NOVA is now mixing his new album for International release.
The music direction has become rocker, electro, dance, black: many '80s influences (Depeche Mode, The Cure) melted with recent twists like The Neptunes, M.I.A, Placebo, and HIP HOP scene. Where melody is always a must.
The result is a multi-cultural bridge, the taste is a global heart with deep roots.
A combination of past and present finally filtered by a skinny mind.
