About me: Docs in Progress was founded in 2004 by Washington-area documentary filmmakers Adele Schmidt and Erica Ginsberg. The mission of Docs in Progress is to give independent documentary filmmakers the opportunity to get feedback on their works in progress from other filmmakers and those who love documentaries; to enlighten the public on documentary, and to build, support, and empower the mid-Atlantic documentary community.
We hold bi-monthly workshops in Washington DC where local and visiting documentary filmmakers can expose their works in progress to the public and get feedback in a safe and nurturing environment. We also organize peer pitching sessions, publish a free quarterly online newsletter with documentary film reviews and interviews with doc-makers, and provide private story consultations to documentary filmmakers.

Hey filmmakers and friends - make a short for the upcoming International Documentary Challenge! A chance to win $5K and have your film shown in theaters around the world! We pick the parameters, you pick the subject and make a film from first shot to final edit to end in 5 days. Show us what you've got!
My dearest, closest, myspace friend, please note you can send MULTIPLE SUBMISSIONS FOR CHEAP (that's kind of a cool thing in film festival land).
DEAR FILMMAKERS completing a BRILLIANT SHORT FILM! The Utah Arts Festival is one of the largest, most culturally rich artistic showcases in the western United States. The works celebrated at the festival stretch well beyond the borders of Utah, exposing over 80,000 festival-goers to a diverse collection of contemporary yet traditional, challenging yet accessible, thought provoking yet fun range of works over four frenetic days every June. The Fear No Film Festival aims to celebrate a similar range of artistic excellence. Last June, Fear No Film presented 63 diverse short films grouped according to the emotion it was likely to elicit from the audience. Screenings included "Movies that will make me feel HAPPY," "Movies that will make me feel UNSETTLED," and "Movies that will make me feel SUBCULTURED."
Keep in mind this is Utah. We here in Utah have been attending and participating in outstanding film festivals long before "independent" Paris Hilton and U2 in 3D. Audiences are appreciative and extremely well versed in the very, very best the world of independent cinema has to offer.
We all feel very strongly that the Fear No Film Festival is a place for fearless filmmakers to be showcased and we will do anything we can to support the films and filmmakers that became part of our family and our history in 2008.
Thank you very much for adding me. I am working on a documentary called On Your Mark, Get Set, Mow! It is a documentary on the sport of lawn mower racing. I am looking for an editor with some experience to help piece the project together. There is an indie/DIY size budget for editing.
