  • Bio

.... DJ D-TOX is a DJ and Producer based in Bournemouth [South Coast UK] .... A typical DJ set from D-TOX would be full of the most fresh and futuristic sounds of big production Jump Up/Dancefloor Drum & Bass, along with a few sneaky classics all coated with a healthy layer of Reggae vibes guaranteed to get mood right and mash up the dance floor every time. .... DJ D-TOX has had a very mixed musical intake from birth. Growing up in East Acton West London and going to Notting Hill Carnival every year along with the mixed musical tastes of his parents [his mum being a Punk and his dad a Hippy in their younger days] as well as his dad and his gran both being pianists. .... D-TOX is an avid vinyl collector, buying tunes every week for over 10 years and is determined to make it his mission to spread the original positive Junglist vibe of "Peace, Love and Unity" .... D-TOX got his first paid set and residency in 2003 at the age of 18 with at the time one of the south coast’s premier Drum & Bass nights Cocoshebeen which was held weekly in conjunction with Slinky @ the legendary Opera House [now the O2 Arena]. There he played alongside DJs such as, Shy FX Nicky Blackmarket, Kenny Ken, Mampi Swift, Ray Keith, Hype, Ed Rush, Bad Company, Bryan Gee, Andy C, Twisted Individual, J-Majik and Zinc to name just a few. Since then he has gone on to support and perform with artists like MC Det, Evil B, Grooverider, Jaydan, High Roller [Dub Alley, Australian Producer] and do live P.As with Cut Above Records [UK Hip-Hop]. Other previous residencys include, Jungle Village and iSkank. .... In 2007 he launched Night Shift with his crew The Disciples Of Drum & Bass [ www.myspace.com/dodab ] the first DNB event to be held in a dodgy little club under a restaurant in Bournemouth gardens called O.T.T where they had headliners like Digital, Majistrate & Nicol and used the Delta 9 and the Tektonik soundsystems. At the end of 2008, after playing at big events like Destiny, Random Concept, New Nation, The Ode Festival, and The Dirty Sanchez Tour feat. Pendulum, he teamed up with Dubnium [ www.dubniumsounds.com ]to bring a Drum & Bass element to their already established Reggae and Dubstep night. .... D-TOX has not had much production output but what he has, has had good response with his tune "Sour Grapes" getting Air Play on Kool FM and his "Rat Bastard" tune with DJ Dose securing a vinyl release on Junction 11 Records and hitting the Top 10 in the Nu-Urban Music sales chart in 2009. .... With D-TOX getting sponsored by Core Elementz and Rydel House and The Disciples of Drum & Bass TV/Radio show on Quantum Soundz [ www.quantumsoundz.co.uk ] in its second year, as well as the mighty Dubnium making some very big moves, the future looks bright for this up and coming DJ/Producer. .... ............ ...... ...... ......
