.. Hey everybody!! I am 39 years old and have played guitar for close to 33 years. I am originally from Ohio and moved to New England when I was 14. I began playing professionally in various groups since I was about 11 or so. I am currently on the guitar department at "Berklee College of Music" and have been on the faculty there since 1997.
Although I am primarily a rock guitarist, I listen to a very broad range of music including rock, jazz, blues, classical, funk, fusion, etc.. If it's good, I like it!
Just a few of my favorite bands include Rush, Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa, Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, U2, Van Halen, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy, The Doors, King Crimson, etc... There are far too many to list them all!
Some of my favorite players include Jeff Beck, Eddie Van Halen, Satriani, Vai, Alex Lifeson, Allan Holdsworth, Scott Henderson, David Gilmore, Steve Howe, Randy Rhodes, Brian May, Steve Lukather, Jon Finn, and Steve Morse. There are many, many more.
In addition to Berklee I am also the "Director of Instructional Design" for SAMI (Sam Ash Music Institute or www.samashmusicinstitute.com). We do on-line video guitar lessons. I am really excited about where it is going.
I have also done some work with MelBay Publications. My publications include "Rock Guitar Journal" where I contributed 10 sound alike solos of various players such as Hendrix, Clapton, SRV, Jeff Beck, etc.. I also did an article series on my two-hand technique for their web site. Most recently, I completed a Book/CD/DVD called "Guitar Riffs Volume 2". It covers guitar riffs reminiscent of the 80s and 90s. It is due to be released very soon.
I endorse Music Man Guitars, Ernie Ball strings, Digitech, and Dimarzio pickups. The Music Man guitars are among the very finest guitars I've ever played!!
In addition to creating instruction videos for SAMI, I've recently started shooting video for an upcoming instructional DVD on my two-hand technique. It is a long overdue project that I that I am really pumped about working on. I am hoping to have all of the video footage completed within the next several weeks. I plan to try and market it myself at first. I am shooting for a late spring or early summer release date. Eventually I will also do another CD. That is another long overdue project!!
