Dotvibes find their lucky birth in 2005, coming up from a small group of reggae lovers and black music aficionados who enjoyed their time covering their favourites inspiring tunes and turning a bunch of jamaican vibrations into something real.
The time spent on cover songs comes soon to an end since the guys felt that was good enough to start creating their own music.
The Dotvibes family starts to spread outreaching little by little her own style and progression;
the warm latin vocals, ragga metrics together with a solid drum and bass backing sound lead the project more than ever towards a new roots taste,willing to blend reggae music, dub and soul for the upcoming of something fresh and easily appealing.
The band performs in many festivals opening the acts of artists such as Alborosie, Mykal rose General Levy, Anthony Johnson, Smoke, Roy Paci, Jamaram and many others.
These great oppotunities let the name of the group reach a very good share among the Italian reggae audience, the guys are then invited from several radio stations to talk about the project.
In may 2008 they are chosen from the Jury of the famous biggest european reggae fest Rototom Sunsplah as best emerging italian reggae band;
they are soon engaged to tour italy performing on the hottest stages and reggae summer festivals experiencing a unique musical and living trip that linked the guys into something hard to forget!
after the releasing in December 2008 of “drop the love bomb” the band is working now on new stuff, waiting to tour again..again and again!
DotVibes nascono nella primavera del 2005 da un piccolo nucleo di cultori della musica reggae
(Mina, Teo, Jack & Tiio) con il semplice intento di divertirsi e di provare a riprodurre quell'insieme
di sensazioni e sonorità che la musica reggae gli aveva trasmesso in quegli anni. Così, come un
bambino che impara ad andare in bici e ben presto si stanca del suo piccolo cortile, DotVibes
capiscono che le giornate passate a suonare senza precisi fini, potevano esser utilizzate a creare un
qualcosa che rappresentasse sì le proprie passioni ma anche le proprie visioni di quel mondo che
ognuno sognava e avrebbe voluto realizzare... Così la famiglia inizia ad allargarsi, i reparti del
gruppo iniziano a definirsi e le prime uscite live confermano le potenzialità del progetto. Il
reggae è un grande universo e la spinta di creare una propria tinta si realizza grazie alla calda voce
latina di Estel Luz, le liriche ragga di Teo, il sax di Dany e le nuove sonorità di Salo alle tastiere,
sostenute dalla solida base ritmica della batteria di Mina, le tessiture di Jack al basso e la ritmica di
Boiler alla chitarra. L'eterogeneità e l'amalgama vocale trova inoltre con l'entrata di Moma (cori) una
rinnovata compattezza. Ciò che ne scaturisce è un new roots che unisce le classiche sonorità della
isla jamaicana ad un'anima acoustic soul ma che lascia comunque spazio all'emergere di un sound
più moderno e affine allo stile reggae Europeo. La scommessa è lanciata, DotVibes accumulano
sempre più esperienza live trovando un crescente sostegno da parte del pubblico che apre nuovi e
svariati orizzonti permettendo di spostare la meta, se di meta si può parlare, sempre più avanti.
Esperienze come il Bornasco Reggae Festival (feat. Mono & Nikitaman) e l'apertura di gruppi come
Al Borosie, Smoke, General Levy, Anthony Johnson, Steela & Franziska confermano insieme ad
alcune performance unplugged nelle radio del torinese l'interesse e la curiosità che attorno al
progetto si crea.
Nel maggio del 2008, la band si aggiudica la vittoria dell " Italian Reggae Contest " all'interno del progetto " European Reggae Contest " organizzato da Rototom Sunsplash e parte per un tour che li porta a calcare i palchi dei più importanti reggae festival della penisola.
Attualmente, DotVibes, conclusa la lavorazione del primo ep “Drop the love Bomb “ prodotto e
mixato da Paolo Baldini e masterizzato al “Wolf Studios” di Londra, continuano e continueranno a portare la propria musica in una serie di date che li impegnerà lungo tutto il 2008.

Ad aprire i THE WISE SOUND FLOATERS band che nasce da un vecchio progetto dub gli "Zabbara" tra i principali esponenti della scena dub milanese.
Che$o invece prima e dopo i concerti miscelerà il meglio del dub in circolazione.
