.. .. .. .. .. .. .... ..In Detroit Michigan, the Legendary 5E Gallery has hosted “The Foundation”, a monthly event celebrating women in Hip Hop. Every month, the all female band “Yin” would host an open mic, as well as select a featured artist, learn and play their music. In November 2009 they featured emcee One Be Lo of Binary Star, and soon after the two entities would combine forces under the suggestion of One Be Lo and call themselves DOUBLE LO 7 or DL7. Now as the official studio/tour band of One Be Lo and Binary Star, the core members are One Be Lo (emcee), DJ Lajedi (turntables/flute), Aisha Ellis (drums), and Emily Rogers (Bass Guitar). Shortly after, their accomplishments include being one of the Highlights of SXSW 2010, the U.S.S.F. (U.S. social forum)held in Detroit, both the Regional and National Hip Hop Congress summits, the International “Take it to the Streets” festival, as well as a national tour. A 3 song sampler currently circulates as introduction to the band while they work on One Be Lo and Binary Star projects in the studio, releases scheduled for 2010 and 2011. When not in the studio, DL7 hosts the new “Monthly Sessions”, an open mic with One Be Lo chopping up samples on his MPC, all live. ...... ..Email ....BookThe1@GMAIL.com.. .. -
