Doug Davis spent a lot of time in North Carolina and New York City playing in quirky power-pop bands you've never heard of before becoming a full-time producer, recording artists and bands that you've never heard of but will someday soon.
In late 2005, after a long period of inactivity, he realized that it was time to make some music again, as a solo artist for the first time. He set out to write a bunch of songs that demonstrated a much more rootsy and soulful sound than he'd ever tapped into before. He then put together a crack band of some of his favorite people to realize them.
Thanks for finding me, Doug! It was nice to meet you as well. Always refreshing to find new local musicians who enjoy playing original music. Have a great Thanksgiving.
Seriously?? Awesome! Well I will def. be there to see you as soon as my sister and I get our pictures with him :). He's doing pictures between 11am and 1pm. So it works out great!
Well, well I see you will be at the Dixie Classic Fair doing a show on Saturday @ 1. Just so happens I myself will be there all day Saturday! So I will def. come by! Where will you be doing the show so I know where to find ya???!! Only after we get our pictures with Ric Flair of course, who will be there the same day, LOL!!!
Hey Doug, I have been hearing about you not only from Anand!, so I feel like I already know you! I like your guitar playing and arrangement too. Hope we can get together soon! Peace. Shu
If you google him and see a picture you will probably recognize him if you have seen any of those shows about Ancient Egypt. Seriously, this man is AWESOME! He's in EVERY one of those shows.
But he's coming to Atlanta March 19th and doing a lecture called "The Mysteries of Tutankhamun Revealed"
And they are having a TON of other stuff going on that day before his lecture, like an exhibit and a 3-D movie, ALL about Egypt.
Ummmm....Hmmm.. Well I guess I really don't have an excuse, other than I found out that there is going to be an AWESOME lecture (by a pretty famous Egyptologist) in Atlanta in March that I'm hoping I get to go to!!
I know it sounds lame... But I'm really into Ancient Egypt "stuff" ... I watch all those shows on History Channel, Discover Channel and National Geographic Channel... and this guy is on like EVERY single show about Egypt. He's a pretty big deal to me! Hahah.
