About Douglas Trowbridge

In 1985 Richard Souther released his first solo electronic album "HEIRBORNE" on Meadowlark/Sparrow Records label. At the same time he also released his first solo piano recording entitled "Songs Unspoken" written under the name Douglas Trowbridge (his middle names). Douglas recorded one more record for Meadowlark entitled "Second Story" then he "mysteriously disappeared."

The two "Previews" have a beautiful harmonic movement that makes me think of Impressionistic composers like, Satie and Debussy. But it retains a sense of the modern: as in Bill Evans. Of course it's all your own and not derivative. Concerning the lovely gem, "For Phillip", was it written for Phil Keaggy? Blessings, ~John

Although I'm not an actual piano teacher at a school (I'm a private instructor teaching one student at a time), but I can probably answer your question. Don't think that they tip the piano player in schools either. In my private teaching, they don't either but they I do get nice gifts at Christmas! Best of luck as a "Patchouli" brother, John :-)
