Welcome to the official myspace page of DRAUTRAN, a Pagan Black Metal act from the city of Kiel, on the shores of the Baltic Sea of Northern Germany .
Since 1996, DRAUTRAN stands for sincere, sophisticated and aesthetical music, its quintessence originates from the perfect blend of tempestuous and chaotic brutality, mid-paced, sombre melodies and occasional touches of acoustic/folk, soaring with majestic and harmonious serenity – music, akin to the many aspects of the forces of Nature .
Our fans attest us complexity and innovation on a high technical-level, an uttermost intensive dramaturgy, yet conveying an epic nature supported by a progressive and hymnic keyboard play and emotional variations in the otherwise rather raging vocal approach .
DRAUTRAN’s lyrical concept is encircling existence, death and primordial times, always exploring the archaic sides of Nature and mankind, which are naturally interwoven with our coastal culture, literature, history and Germanic/ Norse mythology . Furthermore, they refer to the astuteness and metaphorical truth of Old Norse poetry . DRAUTRAN wishes to stay free from any shallow scene & ideology, clichés, commerce or dogmatism; the band has always followed its individual path .
Our new and first official album "Throne of the Depths" was released on 26th october 2007 ce through the German label Prophecy Productions . North-American release date of "Throne of the Depths" is 29th april 2008 ce. A re-release of the demo will follow . Check out Prophecy’s website for more news on both releases .
