'Mackerel Skies' is an ecologically friendly CD. It has a 100% recycled plastic tray, FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified paper, vegetable and soy inks, and a low carbon footprint.
Drumlin recognizes the support of the Province of Nova Scotia through the Department of Tourism, Culture, and Heritage. They are pleased to work in partnership with the Culture Division to develop and promote cultural resources for all Nova Scotians.
DRUMLIN is a family band from Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. The members of DRUMLIN specialize in song writing and also have a passion for adapting, arranging and restoring heritage folk song fragments into a cutting edge fusion of traditional and modern music. This riveting young band has been performing together for almost a decade, and their unforgettable musical presence heartens the audience and celebrates life.
DRUMLIN’s unique sound and magnetic harmonies are being featured on an ever increasing number of other Canadian musician's CDs. Witty stage talk and a fascinating knowledge about the songs they perform make DRUMLIN a band not to be missed.
DRUMLIN's new release 'Mackerel Skies' features a selection of the intriguing and untamed heritage songs of Nova Scotia from the collections of Helen Creighton. These twelve songs were chosen from over one thousand collected tunes found in the Nova Scotia Archives. 'Mackerel Skies' is the upshot of a gifted and hard working team which includes the outstanding talent of record producer Tim Feswick, the celebrated flat picking guitar work of JP Cormier, the award winning photography of Scott Munn, and the Juno nominated graphic design of Jud Haynes.
