I love the comic book medium but don't care for most of whats produced in the industry. A favorite pastime of mine is watching "out of context television" (when you change the channel at the precise moment for comic effect) while eating cap'n crunch in my slippers. I also enjoy writing erotic Trading Spaces fan fiction.

The Beatles, The Velvet Underground, Elvis Costello, The Modern Lovers, Yo La Tengo, The Shins, Spoon, Guided By Voices, Built to Spill, Belle & Sebastian, The White Stripes, The Fiery Furnaces, The Ramones, and a bunch of other supper cool stuff.
Movies
I'm a big fan of films by David Lynch, Woody Allen, David Cronenberg, Wes Anderson, Charley Kaufman, Michel Gondry, Vincent Gallo, Noah Baumbach, Sergio Leone and Peter Jackson.
Movies that I like that are not associated with those movie makers are Fight Club, The big Lebowski, Memento, Amelie, Godard's Breathless, Duck Soup, Dogville, and Double Indemnity.
Television
Seinfeld, Twin Peeks (up until Leland Palmer dies), Aeon Flux, Kids in the Hall, South Park, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development, Lost, Late Night with Connan O'Brien, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and pretty much anything on the Science channel or Discovery channel or National Geographic. Oh and any poker.
Books
Novels: Lolita, Crime and Punishment, and of course the book I illustrated, The Tenth Circle.
Comic Books: Watchmen, Akira, Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron, Acme Novelty Library, Osamu Tezuca's Phoenix, Why I hate Saturn, Kabuki: Circle of Blood, From Hell, Angry Youth Comix, and Nausicaa of the valley of the wind.

Soon after I sent that friend request this morning, I read Marvel's December 2008 solicitations and I was pleased to see you'll be penciling X-Men: Kingbreaker #1. Vulcan happens to be my favorite mutant introduced in the past few years so I'm eager to see how this project leads into War of Kings.
