I never have limited myself to one genre of music as my tastes are based on my current emotional states or who I am with. My past ranges from Skinny Puppy to Ministry to Bauhaus to Depeche Mode to GBH and the rest of the typical 80's diversity. My present includes a preference for the exotic and ethereal from Delerium to Amethystium to Perfume Tree to Aria and much more. Then of course there is Perfect Circle, Kidney Thieves, Massive Attack, Sade, Esthero, Bjork, Tricky, Collide and way too many others to list. But there are those days of classical music, seedy jazz, movie soundtracks, industrial, garage, ska, old punk, flamenco, opera, tribal, electronica and the list goes on and on and on and...

I am a Detroit-based fine art exotic/erotic/experimental photographer whose pseudonym is the acronym for Dark Vision Studio, as well as a play on the word "devious", to which I embrace the definition "departing from the common norm".
NOTE: All work was created physically within the studio with nothing added digitally.
Yes, I do use Photoshop, but only in the traditional darkroom aspects of dodging, burning, balancing and contrasting (with some cleanup here and there). To me, the true art lies within all aspects of the physical creation of the vision that lead to the brief moment when the shutter opens and closes. I enjoy creating unorthodox lighting environments, remote controlled camera systems, hand-made wardrobes and props to enhance the vision without need for any digital effects added in editing. I also love including real elements such as fire and earth and am drawn deeply towards shadowplay.
My inspirations are many, but primarily threefold. The first traditionally stems from personal spiritual explorations and lucid thoughts of self. The second is the perceived persona of the model and the need to balance this essence within the image. This art is not about me as photographer and the other as model, but a collaboration of two as one within art. The third is simply music. I always infuse strategically chosen music within my sessions to direct the overall emotive aspect of visions we are creating.
So, am I looking for new models? Yes as I'm always exploring. Do you have to be nude? No, but I do have a penchant towards those wonderfully free individuals that allow imaginings to flourish with few boundaries or limitations. Is there payment involved? For you or I, unfortunately no, unless you consider cookies as currency. What's with the cat? What cat?
If you are interested in exploring art within a mutually creative and nurturing environment, then please fill out my model application so we can schedule a casual meeting over coffee/tea/slushies to share thoughts and ideas. Simply adding a comment here may not work, unless you write something to truly catch my curiosity.
Until then, thank you for your interest and I wish you luck within your endeavors...
