For the love of Bob, feel free to add "L.A.R.S'08" to your playlist and tell a friend about it. Thanks again. You just made my day. ps I've been told I might get in trouble if I released the record more widely. The lyrics aren't mine, the song's too long, that I've made the song too unrecognizable, it too hard categorize to a musical genre, blah, blah, blah. "L.A.R.S.'08" is the first solo record I ever made. The only reason I wanted to record the song was for ten simple words that changed my life "When you ain't got nothin', you've got nothin' to lose". On September 22nd, 1969, The Band released their second album, known as "the brown album". It featured 12 songs, including "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, "Rag Mama Rag" and "Up on Cripple Creek" (which hit #25 on the charts, their highest-rated single). The album reached #9 on the charts, and is highly ranked in every major poll of all-time Greatest Albums.
In celebration of the 40th anniversary of the release of "the brown album", The THE BAND Band presents The Brown Album Tour, playing the album in its entirety (followed by a selection of songs from other Band albums). Come on out and catch the show!
