Dylan holds a Master’s degree from SUNY Purchase Conservatory and a Bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music. He has taught private lessons on double bass, electric bass, and guitar in Connecticut, New York, and California since 1996. Dylan has performed extensively on both coasts, and has recorded as a sideman on many albums. He is often found onstage at the Famous Jazz Artist series at The Hamlet, where he accompanies jazz greats from around the country, as well as performing in the area with Inga Swearingen, Damon Castillo Band, Que Cosa, Functus, The Cinders, Red Holloway, Zongo All-Stars, The Dylan Johnson Quartet, and many others. He recently returned to the Central Coast after a three year stint in NYC, playing with jazz luminaries John Abercrombie, Adam Nussbaum, Shunzo Ono, Ray Vega, and others. He is currently on the music faculty at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, CA.
Hey Dylan, Sorry I didn't get your event invitation earlier. I haven't been on myspace for a while. I hope everything is going fantastic for you! Hit me again next time something comes up and I'll try to make it
Yeah man, thanks for playing. People told me it was awesome. I think we've got a last-minute slot with Fleshtone in Reno, so we've gotta leave tomorrow morning unfortunately.
