Sounds Like
Avant Progressive Pop Punk Band from Leicester Uk.
Some say they sound like the The Fall. They say they sound nothing like The Fall, but understand lazy journalism.
Former members of Bocca, Chomsky, Bi-Curious and Scud-u-like joined together rather like the melted plastic of the Chapman brothers artwork after the fire.
Not likely to be a huge commercial success Echolocation skirt round the edges of what is really acceptable in a pop band. An aquired taste I don't think you'll like it some how judging by your CD collection
"Billy Pilgrim sounds AWESOME! A Stone Roses-esque guitar riff at the beginning, with a bit of a Jam / The children organ twist."
"Mercury Rev Sang by the Fall"

"Other good acts that featured (EQ Festival at the Musician) and worth a mention: Echolocation.... beat poetry meets Pil, Can, post-rock, and unique invention of their own)." Alan Freeman Alto Stratus

For me the highlight of the day was at the Musician where the lucky audience who had lasted the day long musicial marathon were dazzled by the brilliance of art-rockers Echolocation and the sheer fun of the performance of inspired, acoustic hip-hoppers, Great Imitation. These very different bands really put on a display of talent bordering on genius. To call these artists local performers is wrong. They were class acts that transcend the local and stand as equals beside some of the best musicians out there anywhere.

First on my list of things to hear was Echolocation on the Musician StageEcholocation. A local band with a long checklist of post-punk influences, from Delta 5 to Pigbag, all focused through frontman Pete’s targeted beat poetry. Think a Midlands Mark E. Smith and you’ll be in the right ballpark. They’re properly impressive, with no shortage of bilious intent and wordy fire. I very much wish I’d grabbed their CD when I had the chance.

... the amazing Echolocation - a spoken word and lightshow extravaganza that recalled Mike Skinner fallen through a timewarp and landing in the UFO Club forearmed with the knowledge of 21st century club graphics and a desire to get Andy Warhol in to help...genuinely innovative" Music OMH
”Echolocation are one of those bands that have been about for a while and go about making their music quietly and although have a fine reputation arent part of the 'in-crowd'. These are less about the look (although they have their own shabby style that Keroauc himself would be proud of) and more about the substance. They reminded us of The Fall in their attitude. Great projected visuals, lovely horn playing and musical arrangements. They might not be the in crowd but we rather like these..” The Tube Club
“Wake Up Call is growly and frenetic
….and set-closer A Dog With Two Heads is
just great modern art rock” alt.Leicester
”Echolocation-Wake Up Call...
It's the direction the Dandy Warhols should've taken.” BBC Radio 6music
Echolocation -- a local band by force of where they live but not where they come from: very amusing, with a wry engagement with the audience. Kinda inspired by the likes of The Fall with a poetic social commentary style of delivery.

Echolocation are an unusual outfit, one part beat poetry set to music, kind of new-wave (nods to Joy Division, Killing Joke, Public Image Ltd) with a dash of Krautrocky psychedelia. Some of their songs are a mite dodgy, not least so the song about male period pains! But they can really storm along when they try
