Sounds Like
Eileen Meyer. But okay, if you need a comparison, some have said, "sounds like Sara McLachlan with a random twist of Grace Slick".
Eileen Meyer was born and raised in California, introduced to music by her parents who loved and played many styles of music in the home. At age 10, Eileens mother taught her the basics on piano, and at that point her zeal and enthusiasm for playing and singing took off. Fortunately we find her landing here and there to share the music that has come to her in such serendipitous ways.
Eileen has paid her dues like any hardworking musician, through the 1990s she was earning her living by singing many styles of music in nightclubs and private functions across Southern California, and since 2000 she has been sharing her own original music in theaters, clubs, coffeehouses, churches and intimate house concerts across the Western states. Throughout her career, Eileen has put her voice to work in other areas, such as background vocal recording for other musical artists, radio and television voiceovers and jingle writing and production. She has received high praise for all of her contributions on both local and national levels.
In 1999, one of Oxygen Cable Networks television producers took note of Eileens talent, listening to her latest original tracks recorded in San Diego, California. As a result, her song, Shes Got Something to Say, was licensed for use in programming by Oprahs blossoming network. She then joined the California Oxygen Tank Tour for several dates in early 2000.
Eileen has opened for the internationally acclaimed Cancer Monologues setting the tone with the depth and beauty of her original music. In July of 2003, Eileens music was featured on the CBS Early Show in a story about the Cancer Monologues Project.
Eileen's songs have been described as real, about life - from a womans perspective and told from an intelligent inner voice. The experience of attending a concert by Eileen Meyer goes far beyond the capacity to absorb sound. It is truly a heart nurturing and benevolent phenomenon. "She is singing pure Love." - Julie-Ann Blackmore, Author/Speaker.
In the year 2000, Eileen released her first independent solo CD, Inevitable, followed by her sophomore release at the end of 2002, All in One Day, both produced by Grammy Award-winning guitarist, Larry Mitchell. Larry has played guitar with Tracy Chapman, Billy Squier, Ric Ocasek as well as recorded and produced 3 of his own 5 instrumental CDs. A total of six tracks from Eileens two CDs have received airplay in both the Southern California and Central State regions.
Eileen is now a Hawaii resident where she continues to develop her spiritual work - writing and publishing articles ..ting-edge spirituality; and blending her passion and expertise with empathic healing, mystical work, and the translation of inspirational frequency into song and sound.
"Songs of Anima", Eileen's third CD was released at the end of 2008. Available on most digital music websites.
