The origins of Elficus is Joliette where Eric and Simon started to play together in 1997 in a band named Revive, with another bass player and a female singer. Then, Etienne joined us as a second guitarist in 1999. At this time, our style was not into metal but rather a kind of alternative-rock. We recorded a demo under the name of Revive at that time. Our academic occupations and the fact that Simon was in Montreal, prevented us from progressing during nearly two years. Then Eric and Etienne moved to Montreal too and it became difficult to practice with our former bass player. Our music has gradually moved to metal then in 2002 Etienne met Christian at the university who proved to be the ideal bass player to join us and we took the name Elficus. After having tested three female singers, we finally found Jean-Rene in 2005 to complete the band. In autumn 2005 the first demo is recorded to be released at the beginning of 2006. It contains the first five songs composed by the band. It is in autumn 2006 that Elficus starts to record its first album. Everything is produced by the band members what allows more freedom being given the constraints of each member. This album shows the progressive aspect of the band which was not yet present on the demo and also more aggressive and dark moments. In the beginning of july 2007 the first album entitled "For The Troubled Minds, It Whispers" is released.

ensemble en 1997. Ils jouaient à ce moment dans un groupe nommé Revive avec un autre bassiste et une autre chanteuse. Par la suite, Etienne se joignit au groupe comme deuxième guitariste en 1999. À cette époque, le style du groupe était plutôt le rock alternatif et un petit démo fût enregistré. Les occupations académiques et le fait que Simon était à Montréal empêchaient le groupe de progresser durant presque deux ans. Ensuite, Eric et Etienne ont déménagé à Montréal. Il devint ainsi difficile de jouer avec le bassiste qui demeurait toujours à Joliette. Peu à peu, le style musical se changeait pour le métal. En 2002, Etienne rencontra Christian à luniversité, qui sest découvert à être le bassiste idéal pour le band, qui changea de nom pour Elficus. Après avoir auditionné trois chanteuses, Jean-René vint compléter le tout en 2005. En automne 2005 le premier démo est enregistré pour voir le jour au début de 2006. Il contient les cinq premiers morceaux qui ont été composés par le groupe. C'est en automne 2006 qu'Elficus commence à enregistrer son premier album. Tout est réalisé par les membres du groupe ce qui permet une plus grande liberté étant donné les contraintes de chaque membre. Cet album démontre l'aspect progressif du groupe qui n'était pas encore présent sur le démo et aussi des moments plus agressifs et sombres. Au début du mois de juillet 2007 le premier album d'Elficus intitulé "For The Troubled Minds, It Whispers" voit le jour.
There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.

1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
