In 1996, at the age of 12, Gómez made his first performances on stage in Argentina, where he played for well-known tropical bands which he toured throughout the country with.
At the age of 16, he began to produce his own band and met DJ Taz. At that time, he was influenced by other music genres like the dancehall, Reggae Roots, Dub, Rap that were not massively listened to.
His search for his own music style and new tools to express it moved him away from stage and led him to work with music mixture and edition.
As editor and music producer, he became involved with cumbia sonidera in Mexico and worked for important groups like ....Pesadilla, Maravilla, Kien, Super Changos and La Contra..... Due to these artists, he got into the new genre and cumbia in Mexico, New York and L.A.
A Colombian cumbia collector living in New York gave him his artist name when he called Gómez “El Hijo de la Cumbia” (Cumbia’s son)
“FreeStyle de Ritmos” was his first album, whose songs were intended to create something different, like all the music influences and feelings that inspired him.
Con 12 años de edad, en el año 1996 realiza sus primeras presentaciones en la escena musical de la Argentina, llegando a tocar en reconocidos grupos del circuito bailable tropical, con los que recorrió el país.
A los 16 años comienza a producir su propia banda. Es ahí donde conoce a Dj Taz.
Durante esa etapa recibe influencia de otros géneros musicales como el Dancehall, Reggae Roots, Dub, Rap, géneros que hacen al ghetto en el mundo.
La búsqueda de una mayor apertura de su concepto artístico y de nuevas herramientas para expresarlo, lo aleja de los escenarios y lo conduce a trabajar en la mezcla y edición musical.
Como editor y productor se acerca al movimiento Sonidero de México, llegando a trabajar para grupos de la importancia de Pesadilla, Maravilla, Kien, Súper Changos, y La Contra, entre otros. A través de estos artistas entra en contacto con la escena sonidera y cumbiera de México, New York, y Los Ángeles.
Un coleccionista de Cumbia colombiana radicado en New York le regaló su nombre artístico al llamarlo “El Hijo de la Cumbia”.
“FreeStyle de Ritmos” es su primer disco, en cuyas composiciones buscó crear algo diverso como todas esas influencias y emociones que lo llenaron de inspiración.
