Behind those big blue eyes and the more often than not technicolour blonde hair, there is more to this go-getting girl than is at first apparent. I discover that she has been awake most of the night; her capo still hanging from the back pocket of her ripped and well worn jeans, she clutches several pieces of paper and a notebook. She pours coffee and from this notebook she hands me her latest offerings.

Written in the small hours of the night, these are tales of great sadness and sorrow; of love and life; experience and travel. They are stories of frog princes, white picket fences and secrets that lurk beneath the surface. These technically sophisticated songs are the stylings of Emma Rugg.
