In 2006, guitarists Jerrod Messick and Josh Childers and drummer Ben Sherman created a diverse and intense new sound influenced by death metal, black metal and doom metal. Inspired by Isaac Asimov's short story, The Last Question, they adopted the name Entropy.

Ever since, Entropy has relentlessly traveled and promoted themselves to acquire a strong following in the region. They have shared the stage with such legends as Nevermore, Anal Blast and Warbringer, and have been involved in many NYDM/KYDM events.

In 2009, Entropy released two EPs: The Last Question on Riotous Records, with producer Dave Hyde, and Cosmic Whisper, an independent release. In 2010, Entropy recorded their debut full length album, The Furnace, which is currently being completed by producer Jerrod Messick. Meanwhile, the band is seeking the right label to release the record and work with them as they move on to the next step in their career.
