Ben, I meant every word. I've just ordered your England Fallen Down EP, as I found myself coming back to that track in particular over and over. :-) Best, Mark.
England Fallen Over is absolutely wonderful. A mesmerisingly simple repetitive melody, but endlessly listenable to (in the same way Bittersweet Symphony by The Verve is), with an intriguing vocal delivery that reminded me of early OMD (high praise, as I love OMD). The song feels like a beautiful hybrid of the best elements of the likes of The Orb, Groove Armada and OMD. The video for the song is also superb, and reflects the hypnotic simplicity of the song. Looking to buy this and whatever album it's on! Very pleased I found Epic45 while looking for new sounds on MySpace. Great to see a band that also has a strong visual sense of what it wants to say - your stills and moving images are excellent, haunting stuff that perhaps evokes shared childhood memories. Can't praise highly enough. :-)
Hi guys, really enjoyed your set. Epic's the fckin word innit! Will keep an eye on your dates and see you again in the near future. Gotta consider big bird and his place in the geneology - he certainly doesn't seem carry the same dna as, say, a Gonzo... Take care gents Dom Cinema
"Also hugely enjoyable, highly original AND psychically useful is the
music of Australian duo The Scrapes, whose fiery epic guitar and
abandoned Mithraic fiddle pieces evoke images of lost Keltic lands
inundated by the oceans, lost Iberian & Armorican sea peoples and
lost times from beyond the beyond." Julian Cope
