Epidemic Scorn wurde im Jahre 2004 in Annaberg-Buchholz von Jörn Gallert(Gitarre), Tobias Flath (Gitarre), David Rettke (Bass), Alexander Heber (Schlagzeug) und Sven Potemski (Gesang) gegründet. Nach einiger Zeit und vielen Proben schrieben sie 8 Songs und nahmen kurzerhand die CD "the beginning..." auf, welche noch im selben Jahr erschien. Nach dieser Aufnahme spielten sie mit live mit Größen wie Mathyr, Impaled Nazarene, Yyrkoon, Moshquito u.s.w. ...
Im späten Herbst und Anfang Winter 2006 begann die selbe Bandbesetzung mit der Aufnahme ihres neuen Longplayers "system of sickness", welcher 2007 ebenfalls unter Eigenregie veröffentlicht wurde.
Die Musik von Epidemic Scorn kann, wie auch schon auf der CD davor, als ein Mix zwischen Death Metal und Thrash Metal bezeichnet werden, mit ein wenig Progressive-Einflüssen.
Im Jahr 2008 löste sich die Band in diesem Bestand auf, denn Tobias Flath und Alexander Heber gingen ihre eigenen Wege.
Hinzu kamen Stefan Pabsdorf (Schlagzeug), Michael Richter (Gitarre, ehemals Putrefaction), Florian Spiegler (Gitarre, ehemals Putrefaction) und Marc Mühlhausen (Gesang, ehemals Putrefaction). Mit diesem größerem Lineup, bestehend aus 7 Mitgliedern, begann Epidemic Scorn neue Songs zu schreiben. Diese Songs sind noch brutaler, aber im gleichen Atemzuge auch melodischer.
Im November 2009 erschien die neue Promo-CD namens "Psycho Gourmet" mit 6 neuen Songs. Die neuen Lieder werden zur Zeit und auch im Jahr 2010 live durch die 7-Mann-Combo präsentiert, also schaut vorbei...
Epidemic Scorn was founded in march 2004, formed by Jörn Gallert (guitar), Tobias Flath (guitar), David Rettke (bass), Alexander Heber (drums) and Sven Potemski (vocals). So they wrote 8 songs and recorded their first album "the beginning..." After this they played shows with Mathyr, Impaled Nazarene, Yyrkoon, Moshquito a.s.o.
In october/november/december 2006 they recorded their second album "system of sickness" (released in May 2007).
The music played by Epidemic Scorn is a mix from Death- and Thrashmetal, with a few progressiv influences.
In the year 2008 Epidemic Scorn got a complete new lineup. Alexander Heber and Tobias Flath left the band and Stefan Pabsdorf (drums), Michael Richter (guitar, ex-Putrefaction), Florian Spiegler (guitar, ex-Putrefaction) and Marc Mühlhausen (vocals, ex-Putrefaction) stepped insteat.
Now the music of the band is more brutal but you can listen more melodic tunes too.
In November 2009 the band released their promotion-CD called "Psycho Gourmet" with 6 new brutal, but also melodic songs. At present and in 2010 you can listen to the new songs live.
