"Epochate is a look at the eternal struggle generated by thought and power. Epochate is the journey of mankind across philosophies, ideals and creed. A report of the attempts, defeats and victories of the human race through an age of wars, violence and arrogance.
As the world fades into oblivion, unable to endure the weight of its arrogant sovereigns, all we can do is wait for the inevitable to come and the balance to be restored at the end of this dying era.
Epochate is not a new beginning.
Epochate is the end."
Formed in 2008 by Victor Love (Dope Stars Inc.) and Noras Blake (Spineflesh/Edenyzed), Epochate is a mix of Industrial rock with heavy and concrete orchestrations, apocalyptic drumming, raging percussions, cutting edge guitars and killer vocals. Delivering a sound that has yet to be explored, and a style that brings about an entirely new dimension of musical experience.
It all started when Noras Blake submitted to Subsound Records an instrumental promo of industrial orchestral songs and the label manager, Davide Cantone, contacted Victor Love in order to take care of the album production. After listening to the demo versions Victor recognized the potential to make the project evolve into a more complete band so they joined forces giving life to EPOCHATE. Immediately they started working together day and night in the Subsound studio, composing a great quantity of material from which they selected 9 songs that appears on the upcoming album “Chronicles of a Dying Era”
The collision between the industrial rock and electronic influences of Victor Love and the industrial symphonic influences of Noras Blake created a completely new modern sound that is difficult to classify. Son of the contemporary rock and electronica and heritor of the classical european music, Chronicles of a Dying Era is an album strongly influenced also by contemporary soundtracks keeping at the same time an immediate and heavy sound thanks to powerful beats, complex arrangements and an avant-garde attitude.
Centering on the decline of mankind and apocalyptic visions this concept album will introduce you to the chronicles of our dying era.
The upcoming album of EPOCHATE, "Chronicles of a Dying Era", produced, recorded and mixed by Victor Love at the Subsound Studio and mastered by John Golden will include a set of 9 compositions with evocative and deeply inspired artwork by Machine Room. The album will be released in February 2009 through Subsound Records in Europe and through Metropolis Records in USA/Canada.

The opening title track isn't over yet when you realize: Epochate are here for something huge. With regard to the orchestral blast found within the first sounds, one nearly tends to call this an epochal song...but I better not use this lame wordplay. Let's just concentrate on that this album offers such a great capability you've not heard by a newcomer band for quite a while. The first big surprise of the year!
A spectacular music project. Within this complex sound carpet you'll discover a lot of details, especially after repeated listening sessions. Partly the synths spaces swell like sirens but in the next moment you're attacked by a powerful EBM sequence and strong guitar riffs; there's atmospheric quality as well as heavier passages. Great cinema.
Epochate consider themselves as prophets of doom and warn mankind on their debut album “Chronicles Of A Dying Era” with coevally powerful and lush sounds against the imminent catastrophe. By all means did Epochate manage to start off sucessfully and one hopes that the blue planet will still survive for a while so that we can listen to further Epochate albums.
That they would reinvent the music genre wasn't something one would expect, but the result is a very intelligent album that carries the audience. Once the listener dives into the album, he'll be able to fully appreciate the album potential. The band experiments with different sound options that they have available and they offer a quite strong debut. The two artists create a gloomy end time atmosphere and underline this with a quotation: "Epochate is not a new beginning, Epochate is the end".
Come tutti i momenti importanti.

Epochate is a union of two worlds......the grinding vocals of Dope Stars Inc minced with the evilish vampiric sound of Spineflesh.......It is not a beginning it is an end.........I'll see you on reverbnation.........Travis
