EVERYTHING other than severe heavy rock (too angry!) and Bob Dylan! Love big band, classical, new and classic country, bluegrass, rockabilly, jazz, crooners, dance, broadway, pop, top-40, rock, some metal, lounge, latin, ethnic, indie, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s,& 90s... Just all of it! Oh yeah, I can pass on some of the really hard-core hip/hop rap trash they are currently putting out - not the old-school stuff though...Look through my player above!...
Some of my favorite VOICES ever would be Chris Isaak, Dean Martin, the guy from Rascal Flats, Gary Allan (another country singer), Jon Peter Lewis (season 3 AI) AND believe it or not, George Michael - I could just listen to anything those guys sing. AND, did I ever tell you that blues legend Curtis Salgado was my step brother? We really don't stay in touch now, but I listen to him a lot and he really is one talented guy - love his voice too. The blues don't get the attention they deserve!
Movies
Gone With The Wind, Overboard, Far and Away, Big Fat Greek Wedding, Blast From The Past, The Notebook, A Knight's Tale, The Holiday, A Lot Like Love, Serendipity, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Tombstone, 80s teen movies, Christopher Guest comedies, Classic monster films (B&W only!), Fred & Ginger, Doris Day, Betty Grable, Cary Grant, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, Charlie Chan... stuff that doesn't leave me feeling worse than I did before I watched it is usually something I will be impressed with. Movies are genereally supposed to make you happy!
Television
Monk, History Detectives, Flip This House (Trademark Team), Amer Idol, SYTYCD, Friends, Antiques Roadshow, Medium, Cold Case... The History Chanel, A&E, E tv, Music tv, The Food Network, HGTV, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeanie, Partridge Family and Brady Bunch re-runs....
Books
No time to read much lately, magazines are good and I of course should be reading scriptures! I do usually carry around a copy of "When I was a Slave". That is the most fascinating, thought provoking book and should be required reading for every American. It is a compilation of some of the interviews done in the 1930's of actual former slaves. During the depression, the Gov't hired unemployed journalists to document these stories. It certainly puts perspective on our lives today in more ways than you can imagine. You should read it! You know how we always talk about and worry about the awful things that go on in the world today and wonder how they can ever get worse? Reading this book made me realize that the same low level of what men will do has always been here, it has just shown it's self in different ways through the ages. Our time isn't really any worse morally than the early 1800s, it just shows itself differently.
Heroes
Anyone who can be happy and kind! Too many cranky rude people in this world... Currently really looking up to the Romney family!
and of course my daughter Athena!
She is secretly my favorite child! I love her so much and she did my whole myspace profile for me because she's fabulous!!!I love her so much and she is my hero someday I hope can be like her!(obviously, this section was done by ...... Athena!)
Erin Got the cool new G1 phone and upgraded all the kid's phones for a ridiculously good deal... Probably ought to finish packing and get out of here before the Posted at 4:29 PM Sep 3 view more
So, Athena was trying to "show me something" on my profile and ruined my whole about me section, my slideshow AND my entire customized layout! So for now, if you don't know "about me", you will just have to guess. At least, here is a new layout for awhile. Leave her bad comments telling her to leave her mom's myspace alone! That is why it is called MY-space!!!
Since I have been griped at for not fixing this sections, here is a little that you all already know anyway...
Yes, I have 4 wild kids that are the above mentioned Athena-15, Drake-12, Rhett-10, and Nolie-9. Please see their photos below. IF the slideshow doesn't load, sometimes you have to refresh to see them... They are all anything but typical - very strong willed and have minds and talents of their own. I do have a husband, Dale who is a Federal Employee. He has worked out of Portland since 2003 so he is here on weekends, holidays and special occasions. I have a really nice camera and a couple extras. I am such a dork that I love to enter photo contests. I have never been able to take any classes which means that I really am not that great. I just know how to enter the right image to the right competition so I have won a lot of the time. Since I like to brag when I win and/or get photos published, people get confused and think that I am some pro photographer, but I am not. I never know what I'm doing. I just take TONS and pick out the good ones! I have been reading a lot more photo books lately though and trying to figure out the technical side so maybe one day...Here are some recent images - Please visit the photo gallery I am working on. Be sure to vote and comment if you can! ..

Here is my newest (June 2008) and hopefully my long-term more professional gallery - I need comments so please leave some after visiting
I also love my computer because I really like to do family history research (and photo editing). If any of you ever want to look up your own families, let me know and I will try to help get you started. I have a really fun and interesting tree of my own of course, but unless you are into that stuff - it would bore you to tears for me to discuss it - so I won't other than to say that my ancestors were of German, Irish, Scottish, English. Spanish and French blood. That is why I don't tan too well. They have also been here just about since the Mayflower in several directions with soldier in the Revolution and the Civil war, heros and pioneers and all of those other cool things that I am obviously not going to talk about....;).
I love old houses and architecture and antiques. It is sometimes hard to watch a movie that is filmed in a really cool old craftsman or foursquare because I am too busy looking at all of the details and cringing when they scrape the wood or something.
I keep saying that I am going to manifest a mid-life crisis by getting rid of all my clothes and start dressing straight out of the 50's! I need to get some cool old convertible BelAire or Impala or something and wear dresses with scarves, gloves, and aprons every day. I'll join a bowling league, make meatloaf and learn to knit much better. You all think I am kidding, but I am planning on re-doing my kitchen from it's current diner's theme all the way too that pale turquoise with gingham that only Donna Reed would have. I will get that 1953 Kelvinator Chrome and Porceline stove yet! I just love all of that "atomic age" drive-in era vibe. Funny though, I don't ever plan to give my 1920's bungalow up for a mid-century ranch - EVER! And my latest "problem" would be the 1950-60s travel trailers!! Those things are THE cutest - gonna HAVE to restore one and take a trip to the Grand Canyon in it at some point! OK, I have to get on to my many, many chores now. I'll finish fixing this up another day - you should know enough by now.
Ok, RE: the Acorn Park St. house, my manager is interested and would like to know if you take dogs? She lives in an apartment now, so puppy is already potty trained.
Erin, where is this Acorn Park house located, please give me the details. Do you still have my number? Mail me on myspace if you don't have it. I'd like to check it out. Terrie
