Eclectic, though I bet I can name more 80s tunes than you can. Majors-- U2, Duran Duran, Godsmack, Linkin Park, Puddle of Mudd, Rob Zombie, Clannad, David Bowie, Dave Sears & Enigma 23, along with many other one hit wonders.
Movies
Take all the sci-fi, fantasy, action-adventure movies released in the last 38 years. That'd cover most of my likes. Yes, I do have favourites--all the Star Wars, LOTR, Elizabethtown, POTC, Troy, National Treasure, Mr.& Mrs. Smith, Dune(directors cut and SF channel), Krull, Glory, Schindler's List....
Television
Stargate SG-1, SG:Atlantis, Battlestar Galactica, Dr. Who, Hex,Dead Zone, Psych, and L&O:SVU. Then you'd have to get into the history, science, psychology stuff I watch. I like learning while watching during what little tv time I have.
Books
I'm a reader,have been since I was 4. But I'm also an author, so I'll just toss my name into the hat first, then move onto more important authors. Mercedes Lackey, Larry Dixon, Angela Knight, Rex Stout, Diane Mott Davidson, Lacey Savage, Jet Mykles, Maggie Nash, Linn Random, Morgan Hawke, Ben Bova, Isaac Asimov, JRR Tolkien, Margaret Weis, Tracy Hickman, Evelyn Vaughn and countless others. And those are only the fiction authors..I haven't even tried listing the non-fic yet.
Heroes
I have many heroes and heroines in my life--I've had to because anyone whose gone the distance with me, deserves a medal.;) But I do have some heroes--people who have shaped me, molded me, and have been not just inspiration, but mentors as well. My maternal grandparents, my best friend-Sharyn, Mercedes Lackey, Evelyn Vaughn, Colette, Eric, Joe Konrath, and my sisters are heroes to me. They've been at my side, guided me, helped me...and day in and out, they also acted in the same manner to everyone they meet. They're my heroes because they make the world, and me, a lot better. Muah!
What can I say about me that can truly let you see me as I am? First, I was born on Labor Day here in the US (for which my mother likes to tease me about) and spent the first ten years of my life in Chicago, Illinois. I learned to read and write early in life, before going to school, because my parents would cheat by flipping more pages each time to hurry up reading the stories.
At 10, my family moved to NC, where I spent 8 years learning to love the South. Okay,the no snow played a role, but there's something almost indescribable about the South--their passion, their love of family, their laid-back, competent manner that is very compelling. But after I graduated high school and had my daughter--I moved to New England. While there, I managed to get married, have two sons, lose my dreams and part of myself.
Then a vacation to Florida changed everything. The vacation led to moving, then moving led to my divorcing the man I married. Trust me when I say it was better for us both to not be with each other. During my first two years in Florida, I faced who I had become and didn't like it. I missed the girl who wasn't afraid of taking risks, who didn't let her dreams fade away, but learned to do other things to make the time for the dreams later. So, at the end of 2000, I decided that I would reach out for one of my ultimate dreams--becoming an author.
In 2003, I sold my first book to an epublisher. Since then, I've had five books released with another two on the way. Plus, ae I've learned more about my craft, I've caught the attention of NY publishers as well. One day, I hope I can happily announce that I've sold to NY. It's one dream I know will come true as long as I persevere and not let the fear of success cripple me. If you've wondered about reaching for your dreams, then take my advice--try for it. Though you might not accomplish it the first time or the second, if you continue, you will eventually succeed. I

Occasionally, I go looking for characters-- including myself
I was playing and found me-- sorta. LOL
Who I'd like to meet: People. Real people who want to be friends, lovers, and perhaps more. I'd like to meet people who are open, curious, and willing to explore all facets of life and what it means to have a relationship. Open in beliefs, desires, and willing to be honest is truly important to me as I'm one who questions many things and searches for answers everywhere.
Often times I've found men to be hesitant in approaching because of what I write--erotic women's fiction with romantic elements. Specifically, my erotic romances are for hetero,homo couples and polyamorous people. Why do men shy away from a woman who enjoys sex in various forms? I don't know, but I wish someone would step forward and be willing to see beyond the author title to the woman beneath. Yes, I'm erotic in nature, I won't lie about that--so if you're not into experimenting, you might want to keep walking. But once you look past the writer and see me, Cyn, you'll see a woman who doesn't base a person's experience against a book. I learn something from everyone I've been around, and with the right person--who knows what fantastic things can be shared?
I hate "spamming" but really want to share this: It's been a juggernaut, but "IF THE RAINS DON'T CLEANSE" (my novel about my parents' experiences as schoolteachers in 1950s Africa) is finally marked as "IN STOCK" at Amazon.com. Over the 4th of July weekend they sold out and for almost a week I was horrified that would-be readers were seeing a red "OUT OF STOCK" message when they tried to get a copy. But all is now well, RAINS is getting strong reviews and a grown-up readership, and I'm thrilled.
