A note from Bobby Capps:
For all who have asked, I am deeply saddened to confirm rumors that my
friend and brother Ean is now resting in heaven with his maker. He
will be missed by family, friends and fans. Anyone who knew Ean on a
personal level, knew him for his humble approach and genuine southern
mannerisms. He was, and always will be, known on a professional level
as, not only a great bass player but, a great guitar player, singer,
songwriter, and producer. We did a great thing together with this CD
and I intend to keep his spirit alive by preaching his music for a
long time to come. Please keep his family in your thoughts and
prayers. RIP EAN!! I love you brother!!!
Last Time, the debut album from EvansCapps, is the kind of record that makes you believe in the future of rock-and-roll. Ean Evans and Bobby Capps step outside their roles in Lynyrd Skynyrd and 38 Special, respectively, to lay down 11 smoking tracks. Above all else, it rocks, in ways that might surprise you, considering the pedigrees that Capps and Evans share. But don't be fooled -- this is a rock record made by southern guys, not a southern rock record. The lyrics, music, and production are as fresh as anything on the radio today, while the instrumental ability that Evans and Capps demonstrate puts them way ahead of the curve. Also, you know it's them, not the work of a producer who's "helped" the tracks along (no names, please, but I think we all know what I'm talking about).
In my job, I listen to a lot of music, and a lot of it is disposable, frankly. But Last Time doesn't fall into that category. I liked it the first time I played it, and I've enjoyed it more and more on repeated listening. The songs have a way of staying with me, which doesn't happen that often anymore. This record will sound as good a year or two from now as it does today.
I believe in Ean Evans and Bobby Capps, and I believe in Last Time. Just listen to the album, and I'm confident you'll come to the same conclusion.
Sincerely,
Bruce Simon

Hey Evanscapps, I am sending you a Blue Grass.
Saw Skynyrd a few days ago and it hit home when I didn't see BP or Ean. They are really missed. Thank you for keeping the music alive Bobby! Hugs and Kisses! Monica
