Exercise One are looking at a pivotal year when forecasting 2009. Their debut album 'In Cars We Rust' is about to hit the street's (in May) and so it hard to find them sitting still on their chairs at the moment. Last year was devoted to exploring the freedom an album gives and now it is time to present the fruit of their musical brainstorm. The single released in April will offer a first gimpse of where the album is going. The title 'No News Today' is somewhat misleading because once you give the record a listen a musical journey unravels. It is packed with 3 songs of different couleur forming an interesting blend. The title track features vocals by incredible 'Argenis Brito' - the venezuelan wonderboy with his oustanding voice. The flipside is a full on techno rocker claiming that "It Is Happening Again". Have a listen... it's a blast. The final cut of the record is a remix by the beloved 'Deadbeat' and he doesn't come short of acclaimed fame. Melancholic dubby, techno galore...
To accompany the album release the guys have refined their live-set recently to enhance the thing they like to do most: play live on stage. Acquiring new toys as a start they looked into every crusty corner of their set to reconsider what's hot and what's not. They are having as much fun as ever and the album tour is destined to be a... vulgar display of power... well... not really...but that sounded great. Their mission to shake up techno dancefloors stands and it is a sure bet to say that they will manage to surprise some listeners once they kick off their tour.
On the remix front Exercise One are happy present 2 remixes out on KumQuat shortly. Further interesting requests are flying in and some treats are destined to follow. Some vague hints about a next ep will round up this forecast. They are just putting the finishing touches to an Ep which is gonna see the light of day on one of their favorite labels (!) This will be anounced soon and will add to the excitement of Exercise One's 2009.
