Bio
Fading Hour is emerging as one of the most promising and unique young bands to hit the Australian music scene. Their sound is dynamic, distinct and lucid with "subtle textures and quietly seething emotions, with full-blown ferocity being saved for just the right moments". Their music is an amalgamation of genres which can best be described as progressive hard rock. Their shows elements of their influences including shades of Porcupine Tree, Dredg, Tool, Pink Floyd and Disturbed. Since beginning humbly in a small scout hall basement in 2006, the band have developed a whole new level of intensity and musicianship at their live shows. Fading Hour have gigged heavily at some of Melbourne's premier live venues including the The HiFi Bar, The Espy, Evelyn Hotel and Ding Dong Lounge and have shared the stage with some of Australia's best artists including Birds of Tokyo, Dead Letter Circus, Twelve Foot Ninja, Mammal, Full Scale & Lucius Borich (Cog) and recently toured with Thousand Needles in Red. With this experience under their belts, Fading Hour have forged themselves a renowned energetic and powerful live presence. 2008 saw the release of their debut EP with Warren Hammond. The 'Beyond the Void' EP was launched to a sold-out room at the Espy's Gershwin Room and has since thrown the band into the limelight in the music scene. Tracks from the EP were featured in several episodes of Channel 10's "Going Balystix" TV series which have been aired nationally across Australia. 2011 will see Fading Hour releasing their highly anticipated 2nd release. Several songs from the upcoming EP have been road tested at recent shows and have received very strong feedback. Their new EP will harness the experiences the band has collected since their debut EP and is destined to take Fading Hour to the next level. Stay tuned.. -
