Each one of us had a different path and arrived in this project with his own blend of influences and interests. However, the common reference has to be that great vibe of the 80's/ early 90's party rock, with lots of melodies and great hooks... Danger Danger, Tyketto, Harem Scarem, Firehouse, Hardline, Bon Jovi, Warrant, Winger, Whitesnake, Journey, House of Lords, Scorpions, Gotthard, Talisman, Poison, Mötley Crue, Bad English, White Lion, Great White, Bad Company, Damn Yankees, Mitch Malloy, Michael Morales, Alice Cooper, Toto, Styx, Vixen, Heart, Cinderella, Skid Row,...,... but if it gets harder, we won't say no! Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Edguy, Helloween, Testament, Exodus, ...,...
Sounds Like
Hard, melodic, powerfull, fun rock'n roll... what else did you expect???
FAITHFULL was born in 2001 by the hand of Rui Martins (guitars) and Sergio Sabino (vocals). Mario Barbosa (bass) and Sergio Ramos (drums) are the other members of the band’s line up.
The first demo, including 13 songs, from ballads to up-tempo hard rock themes, captured the attention of some record labels and media around the world.
In 2003 the band signs with Spanish record label "Vinny Records", entering the studio to record the debut album "Light This City". The album is then released on November of the same year, with distribution agreements for Europe and USA, and licensing for Asia by the Japanese label "Marquee/Avalon".
According to the prestigious BURRN! Music Magazine (2 – 2004), "Light This City" reaches 11 in the Japanese "TOP50 Rock/HR/HM" chart.
Light This City's official live presentation took place at the Hard Rock Cafe (Lisbon) on March 16th 2004. The band went touring, having the honour of opening for WHITESNAKE in Lisbon on September 29th of the same year.
In April of 2004, Munich's Hardest Hits, Germany's No.1 Melodic Rock Radio in the Internet, presents the brand new CD compilation which includes the song "Light This City".
During that year, the Brasilian record label Frontline Rock invites FAITHFULL to participate on the Tribute CD to the famous rock band JOURNEY, with the hit song "Only The Young".
The british magazine “Fireworks” released in July 2006 a CD including the song “Save The Clowns”.
On June 14th, 2006, FAITHFULL is again invited to open to WHITESNAKE this time at Lisbon’s Coliseum.
In 2007 FAITHFULL was among the five nominated bands for Toronto International Music Awards, in "Best International" category.
The recordings of the new album “Horizons” started that year and led to a record deal with US label Perris Records.
Horizons was released in the USA on May 20th 2008, and in Europe during June. And is also available in Asia.
The band presented “Horizons” live at Hard Rock Café – Lisbon on June 29th.
“Horizons” reaches 3 on the Import Albums Chart in Japan (Burrn! Magazine – August, 2008).
