Brooklyn post-punk trio FAN-TAN are nearing completion of their debut LP entitled A Strange Game. Last month they released the album's first single "1989" to overwhelmingly complimentary reviews. The song is available as a free download at their bandcamp site. A Strange Game will be out later this year, with a US tour to follow. FAN-TAN have come to be well-known for their intense live performances, melding swirling guitar noise and icy bass to post-punk rhythms, haloed by sharp, lilting vocal melodies. Like a more rigid MBV or a less rigid Gang of Four. A more dramatic JAMC. A kinder Suicide.
