On the real tip....
I've been putting in work for la lucha since birth.. still trying to replant my own seed of creativity and rock the ideas i've add for 10+ years. Started a bit of a floetry back when you wouldn't hear xicana voices on the mic, and have been so focused on organizing for liberation and others arte-- that I forgot about my own. What you see here and what will be seen-- is "mi otro yo" Bienvenido to mi vida loca....puro paisa...xicana power with MC's, mujeres en ceremonia front and center. P/V
BIO:
Fe is a Xicana Indigena artist, activist, academic, community & event organizer, and poet & performer. She is the cofounder and coordinating member of two groundbreaking creative wombyn collectives, Mujeres de Maiz and In Lak Ech and as a mujer en ceremonia, connects & crosses borders representing this generation's Xicanistas.
She is on the front lines of activism and organizing on a daily basis, not only writing and singing about the struggle but organizing it and making change in her community and the world for over 12 years.
Having organized hundreds of cultural events, marches, protests; from the streets to campuses, ranchos, and both concrete & real jungles for many artists and social justice causes, her current goal is to focus on her own creations and begin teaching at local colleges to continue to empower young Raza wombyn.
Felicia holds a B.A from UCLA in World Arts & Cultures with a minor in Chican@ Studies and a M.A in Chican@ Studies from CSUN. She is currently in a MFA in Public Practice Program at Otis College of Art & Design.
