What happened to all the guitar, bass and drum solos in the songs of today??? Don't you remember going to concerts back in the day, and discussing with your friends the intricacies of the way the guitar solo was played? Or how about watching a concert DVD of Rush, and the whole crowd performs an "air drum solo" in unison with Neil Peart?
A funny thing transpired sometime during the 90's era, when the solos went by the wayside, and the Media decided that generic, predictable, pre-fab music was the way to go. And band by band, solos quietly vanished into obscurity......perhaps thought of as a musical interlude filler? This was the 'anti-technique' movement!
Well, the solos are back, baby!! And so is the growling raw power of avant-garde progressive rock/metal shred with a bluesy-fusion flair, sure to please any hardcore rock lover!!
Featured on Fridays is a salute to all the cool "tunage" & musicianship from the 60's, 70's & 80's!
Our sound is as varied as our influences, so don't expect to hear the same style with each new tune...we like to keep it fresh & unpredictable, yet still deliver a sense of familiarity to the listener.
To keep our chops up to speed, we practice daily, studying various odd-meter time changes, scales & modes, cool jazz charts.
Alot of our inspiration for writing comes from studying the greats, including Ira Sullivan, Joe Diorio, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Wes Montgomery, etc...

Just keeping you up on what I'm doing as of late. Crystal: Check the new pics on "MySpace" and you'll see a couple of pics of my bass. Now I gotta have you back here to get pics with you and that 727 Ibanez Road bass! Got to meet Doug Johns!
I put a kahler on the Bob Weir because I did not want to do that much routing. The Kahler only need a small amount of routing to mount it, and the mounting hardware-the originals- matched at the rear mounts! I do love Floyds and have one on my DXMG Jackson. The old Yamaha rgx211 has a floyd like trem that has open mounts for ball end string. The Kahler and the Yamaha I need to soulder the strings so the don't unwrap. A small defect if your sensitive to lead, but worth it if you know how to use shrink wrap to cover the ball end where you need to solder the string. Was I any help with my answer?
Yea! I'm done with all the meds from my infection.....time for some guitar playing and clinics at Hertlein. I should try to get to see Chickenfoot, but can't afford it right now. Still planning a video for youtube. I'll keep in touch. Next time your out here I'll bring my camera again.
Known2you: My comment on your posted song....You sound like UFO......that's a good thing. Brev and Crystal: I hope your rocking uot with abbandon. Once I'm well I'll get back to writing and recording more stuff. Thanks for all your talent and support.
