The Carrollton Station Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation established to provide grants to New Orleans musicians who lost instruments, equipment and livelihood due to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Feeder Bands on the Run is the benefit cd produced by the Foundation to generate revenue to fund its grants. The album features 20 original songs--the majority of which were written in the storms' aftermath--by outstanding local artists. Those songs are listed here under "influences" because the musicians who contributed their time and talents to the project are the inspiration upon which it is founded. More information on the Foundation, the cd and on how to apply for a grant is available at our website. Feeder Bands on the Run is currently available for purchase at Carrollton Station, located at the corner of Willow and Dublin Streets in New Orleans, at Louisiana Music Factory, through the Louisiana Music Factory website and through CdBaby. Carrollton Station Foundation's Friend Space (Top 24)
Wanted to throw a note and tell everyone some cool Deadeye Dick news. After Katrina, we unearthed the original mix tapes of the unreleased 3rd Deadeye Dick record. We recorded it a few years back and for several reasons never released it.
We are very proud to tell y'all that we have posted this unreleased record entitled "In Effect Groovy" on our Deadeye Dick myspace page for sale starting this month: www.myspace.com/deadeyedick
All I can tell you is that it represents everything about the chemistry of the three of us in Deadeye Dick that led to our success. It contains songs that we played the very first time the three of us walked into a room together, and songs that we played live at our last big festival and sold out House of Blues show.
We are very proud to share this record. We posted the record on myspace this week, and have received more great stories about the old Howlin Wolf and Tips shows and more stories (from literally around the world) sharing support and fun than I can relate here.
In a time of flooding memories (no pun intended), it's so wonderful to have some of our favorite come to light again.
THANK YOU!!Carrollton Station Foundation for coming to the show last week and for all the birthday wishes!!!!
Yeah that's right, I said it.
It's my birthday!! And if you didn't , it's ok. I still love you.
x,
