Bio
The band Firefly was founded in 2002. Following several line-up changes, band members today are: Ivana Novak (synthesizer, lead vocals), Aleš Vojvoda (rhythm guitar, vocals), Marko Lavrč(rhythm/solo guitar), Urška Jeraj (violine), Anze Sitar (drums) and Matevz Seibert (bass guitar). Although Firefly’s music expression is usually categorized as rock, it draws from strong classical roots and often involves metal, pop and etno influences. This multi-genre sound is achieved through a delicate interplay of piano, violin and guitar. The band has spent the last six years concerting throughout Slovenia. They played on several festivals (Krawallhala and Vollumen festival in Austria, Oreng fest, Dobrrock and Rock Otocec in Slovenia) and participated in band competitions (Live Award, Newcomer, Simply the best contest, Rock Otocec etc.). Especially notable were the appearance at the Rock Otocec festival in 2007 and the second place award at the prestigious Newcomer festival in Graz. Firefly’s recordings have been played on a couple of radio stations and festivals. In 2009, they released their first album "Shades Of Time", and two official videos ( In My World and Lalalai ) Currently, the band is preparing for spring tour across Slovenia and Austria.
