I live in Tucson, AZ. I grew up in Maryland and I twirled baton competitively for 12 years. I left Maryland in 2000 after winning 2 gold medals at the World Championships in Birmingham, England. Soon after arriving in Tucson, I discovered fire dancing and I was amazed by what I saw. Naturally I just transferred my talents right over, and I must say that it was the best thing that ever happened to me. I love fire spinning! Teaching and performing gives me a feeling of completeness and direction, as well as an outlet to fully express myself in an uplifting way that everyone can enjoy. I have been living in Tucson for over 5 years now and I have been dancing with fire almost the entire time!
I edited my profile with Thomas' Myspace Editor V4.4
Who I'd like to meet: I would like to meet any fire junky. Eaters, Breathers, Dancers... everyone! I want to teach, perform and be a part of the entire fire community. Anyone that plays with fire at any level. I also would like to meet other people interested in Yoga, Raw Living Foods, Shiatsu, and any other healing modality.
hEllo! Thank YOU! it is my pleasure :) would love to try and make it down to Tucson for Gem and Jam this year - we shall see :)
re: FlowToys - yes, i LOVE them! Sean and Prisna are incredible and their LEDs are pretty much top of the line, imho. there are some definite downsides, but the positives greatly outweigh them.
i started with 2-light flowPoi, but then my addiction shifted to staff, so I took the lights i had, ordered some more and a staff case, and there i was. but - then i realized that 2 is even better than 1 and started playing with doubles, so i got more lights and a pair of shorter casings. ~~ AMAZING! the lights are super versatile, now i have flow poi , long staff , and doubles = happy Me :)
the main downside, imo, is with the weight - they are really light so it takes some adjusting if your used to a heavy, endweighted staff. altho, they do sell flowMass to add endweight, but i havent tried them..
the other minor downside is that you have to take each light in and out and turn them on/off individually. its not a huge deal, but when you have 12 lights in two staffs, it can be quite a process... i wish i could just flip a switch.
but, this is also a blessing since you can switch around all the lights and modes to create whatever combinations you want ~~~ a TON of flexibility and almost limitless possibilities = happy :)
finally, they are somewhat fragile.. i mean, they are definitely durable, but i cringe everytime i drop mine.. once in a while when the batteries are dying the lights go off upon impact, and well, that sucks... but if you take care of them this shouldnt be a problem.
the last AMAZING feature is that the lights run on RECHARGABLE AAA batteries.. but if you cant recharge them (at a festival or something), you can just pop in regular batteries = SWEET!
yaaa, super long comment - there you go , i <3 FlowToys with all my insides. EnjoY!
Grace you are so awesome with your skillz. Everytime I watch your vids I get more and more amazed, and inspired.. BTW when are you going to upload some new vids.. Much respect and love
Hiya Michelle. I wanted to thank you for coming today. We had a blast. Jilli, Bruce and I are going to have a gift opening extravaganza (as if she needs ANYTHING) tomorrow morning, but I thank you in advance for your gift. I am glad Julian got to hang and spend some time in the exer-saucer and take a nap too. He is getting cuter everytime I see him! Thanks again and we'll talk soon.

I got your message...did you have a great time with your friends? I am sorry I didn't get back to you...as usual, my days have been crazy. We actually had to go to Safford on Thurs. to pick up a travel trailer we bought, so it totally worked out for us. I can't wait to get together :) At this rate, Julian will be walking by the time we get a play date going!
We're hoping you'll display this little badge for us on your profile for ooodles of people to see. or better that you'll create a space at POI PEOPLE... where you can chat, show your vids n clips and tell everyone about your activities too
This is a new social network (a smaller myspace with profiles etc.)Just like at LTHf or She phoenix. It's hosted by 'NING' a trusted provider. 'Ning' means peace by the way...
At Poi people they're seeking to create awareness of autism and other social disabilities, green and community issues, linking these to the united voice of the the fire and performance arts, the music and film industry and you too...
When you arrive there, you'll first need to set up a profile of your own within ning (similar to myspace but less chaos he he") search networks for 'POI PEOPLE' and add your profile to it..
THAT'S IT...
Let me know if you get stuck and i'll try to help.
