DIGITAL DOWNLOADS HERE:.. ...... ........ "DETROIT -- Formed in September 2001 out of the ashes of early 1990's cyber-metal group Noc Barrage, FIREWERK has become a formidable force within Detroit's industrial music scene. Its members have independently released 2 full-length CD's titled "Amplified Fragments"(2002) & "Circuits and Curses"(2004)." .. FIREWERK disbanded in 2005. .... .... From Streamofconsciousness.net: .... "United with thoughtful lyrics, the style created by Firewerk’s sophomore release authoritatively takes back heavy metal from contrived nu-metalists and industrial from electronic purists. The result is Circuits and Curses, something equally foreign and familiar, catchy and contemplative. Appropriately titled “Getting Lifted,” the introductory track to Circuits and Curses hijacks listener consciousness with little preamble… Lyrically, the song establishes the early relationship between glaring inequities and desires, the “curses,” and the more inconspicuous motive of the album and music as the method of delivery, the “circuits.” With lines like under-rated getting lifted, overstated getting lifted, all the gifted getting lifted Cross details various social inequities and desires by exploring the different definitions of “lift” (to steal, to elevate, to end, etc.). .. level of consciousness: 9.1 out of 10… it improves on the previous release and boasts exceptional quality despite being an independent release." .... SIDE-LINE WEBZINE----- FIREWERK - CIRCUITS AND CURSES Posted by: Cedric ".......“CIRCUITS and CURSES” serves as my official introduction to Firewerk. Well, the least I can say is that they nearly blew my brains out of my head. This combo composes a very hard form cross over between electronics and guitar riffs. While the opening piece “Getting lifted” sounds to me like the offspring between M. Manson and KMFDM, a few other pieces come closer to the great Gothminister. Firewerk composes a carrying muscled guitar power that sounds harsh and brute while the incisive electro tunes and arrangements bring the sound in harmony. I’m totally wild of cuts like “Crisis”, “Circuits and curses” and the more electronic minded “Pray”. There’s an overwhelming power emerging from their songs, but Firewerk never loose control. The power and aggression of the guitar riffs get you wild at one side while the electronic aspect comes to polish the brute diamond. Firewerk doesn’t sound innovative, but their album has been composed with knowledge and talent! This band definitely deserves recognition and I would know what to do if I was running a label focusing on extreme power! Great job guys!"
