OUT NOW ON SILVER GHOSTS (from our friends HELBAARD) "DEAD NUNS RISING" K7 (live in Den Haag and Geneve)
Taken from Volcanic Tongue website as written by David Keenan :Wild new guitar/drums Mouthus/Haino/Musica Transonic-styled raggedy ass-over-amp free rock squall from the Loosers' Portugese love cult. Features the long revered "Keiji Haino's Haircut". Someone hadda immortalise it. Fish & Ship are the support for MV & EE on their upcoming European tour. Tiny pressing of only 100 copies so better move it.
57th best record of 2006 for Thurston Moore and Byron Coley in Arthur Magazine : FISH & SHEEP - Double Banana LP (Ruby Red) Amazing off shoot of Portugal outsider freaks Loosers . Scrabbling guitars and drums making waste of any concept of presentable fidelity. A sweet sick and captivating motion not too unlike Lambsbread minus the holy smoke.
S.Kobak in Satan Rulez blog : Fish and Sheep blast through thick stoner riffs and nasty hardcore attacks on their 2006 album Double Banana. These sweaty Portuguese noise mongers get down the best when shreddin’ the most. Their discombobulating breakdowns A swarm of bees set to death metal drumming welcomes “Sense of Murder” antecedent to a no-wave, fret-feeling meltdown. Guitarist Jorge battles a mountain of Mouthus-esque industrial fuzz uphill with stitched together psychedelic skronk on “Inverted,” sounding like Hendrix in a sound war with Throbbing Gristle. In the end, Jorge embraces the fuzz demons, alternating between low-end drone and Glenn Branca-aping string slaughtering. The peak of the album, “Keiji Haino’s Haircut,” indeed channels the Japanese free rock messiah through smoky, thick-toned six-string bad trip rips but also adds logical firing squad psych-rock accents. Alfonso’s wild drum work allots Jorge room to drag, strum and soar, as he ends the song with a cut-up of “The National Anthem.”
