Five Minutes for Myself siitettiin kesällä 2006. Melodisen rockbändin raunioista nousi laulaja, Mirella ja rumpali, Tikku joilla oli palava halu laittaa pystyyn uusi bändi. Bändi jonka kanssa voisi tehdä jotain kokeilevampaa, jotain uudempaa ja jotain rankempaa. Pian kitaristimme Joni liittyi matkaan mukaan ja ensimmäiset biisit alkoivat muotoutua. Muutamien treenien jälkeen ja yhden onnekkaan sattuman kautta Joni tapasi Miian joka osoittautui täydelliseksi lisäksi kokoonpanoon. Biisejä syntyi lisää ja tyyli alkoi kehittyä.
Tosin bändi pysyi keskosena vielä 1,5 vuotta basistin puuttuessa. Monia tarjokkaita kävi kokeilemassa mutta huonolla menestyksellä. Tavalla tai toisella basistit vain…katosivat. Vasta helmikuussa 2008 bändi täydentyi lopulliseen muotoonsa kun Tikun vanha ystävä, Lari, käveli treenikämpän ovesta sisään. Paletti oli täydentynyt. Ei kauaakaan, kun Femmarit nauhoitti ensimmäisen, kolmen biisin omakustanteensa ”the 1st second” Kouvolassa MadMix-studiolla. Pieni pala rockhistoriaa oli syntynyt. Sinkku sisälsi kolme biisiä ja sai positiivista palautetta mediassakin.
Into ja tahti jatkui kovana; lokakuussa 2008 äänitettiin julkaistiin toinen kolmen biisin omakustanteemme "Two Minutes Too Much" ja huhtikuussa 2009 tehtiin jo kolmas promolevy "Three Seconds After". Seuraava julkaisumme tulee olemaan pitkäsoitto, joka saadaan valmiiksi vuoden 2009 aikana.
Myös keikkailun makuun on päästy kesäkuusta 2008 lähtien ja energiaa puhkuvaa rock-ilosanomaamme pyrimme jakamaan elävälle yleisölle varsin ahkeraan tahtiin. Tulkaahan ihmiset paikan päälle toteamaan!
Five Minutes for myself was conceived in the summer of 2006. From the ruins of a melodic rockband rose a singer, Mirella and a drummer, Tikku who had a burning feeling they had to put together a new band. A band that was free to explore, to do something new and maybe even a bit harder. Soon our guitar-player Joni joined in the band and the first songs were starting to shape. After a few training-sessions and one lucky coincidence, Joni met Miia who turned out to be the perfect addition to the assembly. More songs were born and our musical style evolved.
The band was incomplete without a bass player for another 1,5 years. We had some candidates but they all just… disappeared in one way or the other. But then one day in February 2008 Tikku’s old friend, Lari, walked through the door and the band was finally whole. Pretty soon we recorded our first promo single “The 1st second” in Kouvola at MadMix Studio. A small piece of rock history was born. The single included three songs and received a warm welcome also in the media.
We're keeping up the good work; in September 2008 we recorded our second single "Two Minutes Too Much", naturally at MadMix Studio. In April 2009 we made our third promo single "Three seconds after". Our next release is a full-length album, which we're aiming to finalize by the end of the year 2009.
We started playing gigs in the summer of 2008 and we aim at being busy also on the road. Come to check out our energetic live show, you won't be disappointed!
