A great recent influence and inspiration to rebuild my old synths and get back to serious composing has been jamming with Brendan Pollard here in Bedfordshire. Earliest influence was Wendy Carlos the fabulous and heroic driving force behind Walter Carlos who wrote the utterly amazing soundtrack for 'Clockwork Orange'.
David Vorhaus - who's stunning and ground breaking 'White Noise' album An Electric Storm opened our eyes, souls and minds.
I had no idea till recently the Delia Derbyshire of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and Dr WHO fame was an influential part of White Noise with An Electric Storm. Please read the details at the link below:

The other heroes of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop who like the hero's of Bletchley Park where cast aside by the UK establishment and left to rot. If they'd have been in any other nation they'd have their own museum.
Tomita, Weather Report, Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk........... Moby..
Moog and ARP and the other great geniuses who extended the work of Leo Theremin beyond his wildest dreams and into Kirlian space.
FIXED1T is Mal Dixon's alter-ego the builder of bonkers electronica with the input of occasional drifters. I have been rummaging and scrummaging for old music gear for years, long before eBay came along, boot sales, rallies old ladies church jamborees, the lot. What was musical got fixed, that which couldn't be fixed got cannibalized and slowly the music grew. Out of the dead souls of once valued music gear climbed new sounds, new feelings new melodies.
From the rubbish I built synths, single oscillators, drove them in 74154 demodulator chips with pots on to make 16 note sequencers, logic dividers, ring modulators and slowly my babies grew. Some grew bigger than others, some so large they started to take over rooms and still the music cried out to be made... so here it is warts and all.
The early stuff was recorder live onto a 2 track reel-to-reel, no overdubs, multiple takes, just crazy adrenalin panic.
