"There are literally thousands of “bands” in New York City; Fixer are rock stars, they just don’t have a platinum record yet. They look more Sunset Strip than Bedford Avenue, not afraid of excess in either their music (balls to the wall raunchy hard rock in the style of early Guns ‘N’ Roses) or appearance. What I love about this band is that they treat every fucking show – even a Thursday night in Brooklyn – like it was a CD release party, a photo shoot, and New Year’s Eve all rolled into one. " -- Jersey Beat
"Everyone is talented, and Fixer mixes in perfect proportions New York Dolls and Ramones with Aerosmith and Rush, to make this fusion sound that has not been heard since 'Appetite for Destruction.'" -- neufutur.com
"With their backstage antics, high voltage performances and little "indescretions," NYC's Fixer are the epitome of Rock and Roll...galvanizing showmanship...heavy guitar and drums...Saffer’s vocals are astoundingly melodic." -- GarageRadio.com
"Melodic grooves and street smart tunes, these boys are out to take over the world." -- New York Waste
"Fiery riffs and irrefutably strong vocals make Fixer a hot band absolutely worth a further listen." -- Culturedose.net
"Fuckin A this is a killer rock band." -- Metalcore Fanzine

Hello Everyone. We're still plugging away in the studio. Don't want to rush the magic of the new cd.....that said, we are making progress every week. The rhythm tracks came together very quickly when we were upstate. We cut drums, bass, rhythm guitars and some lead guitar tracks in about 3 days....which is very efficient. They sound thunderous, urgent and powerful.... however, vocals take a bit longer with other factors coming into play (scheduling in nyc, moolah, etc.). Looks like we locked down a few more shows for this summer, including our next appearance in New York City....that will be announced shortly. Also, a big announcement coming soon about a fall tour we have planned, starting mid September. Anyway, I know I'm being cryptic but I just wanted to let everyone know that things are happening in Fixerland and it's not just the new cd. ugh, I'm completely hungover (The Hangover is a GREAT flick) after a game of flipcup that went a little out of control last night.....college style beer drinking fanaticism. Stay tuned, oh, by the way, Fixer will be on free radio jackson on tuesday - two songs hosted by Fixer Fox and Superfan Emily... it's her first time in a long time being on the radio and djing so tune in! Here's the link, all you have to do is click to play:
http://www.live365.com/stations/freeradiojackson?play
Ugh, continuing to drink coffee as my eyes and nose run as my battered body attempts to repair itself through the goodness of natural human immunity. I think I'm human, I haven't stepped in front of a truck recently to test my superhuman theory, although the pounding in my head feels like I did. Whop, here's another human phenomenon, the urge to pee. Love ya, Evan.
June 15, 2009 - Evan R. Saffer (Studio Day 2)
It's hard to think of what to write other than the most immediate and vicious form of unpleasantness. I cook a nicoise salad with talapia from the market for everyone last night. The entire band, including me, had a complete VOMIT-A-THON all night. We all just traded places puking our guts out until sunrise. Then Tommy, being a champ that he is, strapped on his guitar and continued to record. I crawled into a hole of severely depleted helldom and disgrace for poisoning everyone. I just woke up after a 5 hour cat nap and have had nothing to eat this entire day but a few swallows of ginger ale (mom's trick for upset stomach). Yeah, that's pretty disgusting imagery I know, I apologize again. I've resigned from cooking the rest of this trip, tonight is the last night anyway. Despite our trend of being CURSED! we managed to record drums, guitars (including solos) and bass to 11 tracks in less than 3 days. FIXER is a machine and I'm really proud of how it all came together. Sonically this record sounds HUGE and just really took on a new life once we got in here with some superior gear and started recording. I have several vocal sessions booked for the end of the month back in NYC and I'll be writing updates on that. We're hoping it'll all continue to come together quickly. I think Rev won the Vomit a Thon for most trips to the bathroom. Adam and Rev tied for most Vomit outside of the toilet bowl (rookies). Tommy won the award for holding out the longest, he didn't vomit until he woke up. I won the award for most severe side effects and not being able to even speak until now. Ahhhh boys....what's for dinner?! ugh. We're pushing off tomorrow, speak to you soon. Love, Evan
June 14, 2009 - Evan R. Saffer (Recording Studio Day 1)
We're tucked away in the country, far into the wilderness of upstate New York. The studio is amazing. Really beautiful HUGE space with an incredible set up, AND a full apartment for the band to live in while we record here. We have our own bedrooms, a sweet living room with movie projector, a full kitchen (which we stocked with our final pennies so I could cook some amazing dinners), bathroom and really everything we need to get down to business. So far the first day was a classic whirlwind of Fixer drama. We came in VERY eager to get the lead out and finally get some of our new music on tape. We came in and set up and got sounds in record time, literally about an hour, which is unheard of. The mojo was rising. Then we busted out 2 songs in about an hour. That's also a silly amount of time. Then, as usual, a crisis. We had some major tuning problems which actually still cannot be explained. Four and half hours went by without finding a solution. Finally, we figured out a way to move forward and keep plowing. I had to make sandwiches for everyone to entice the engineer to keep working until the wee hours...hehe...evil grin. Anyway, first day of recording was very productive, very good for us to get out of the city, to be together in this isolated temple of music and do what we do. After listening to our music and dancing around, high fiving and drinking some home made rum from my father, I'm now getting my ears blasted out as our esteemed engineer plays his music for us. Uhmmmm, do we have to listen to this on 11? It just stopped, thank god. hehe. uhm.....yeah, I'm beat but a peaceful serenity is taking over my body. We've been filming and taking pictures, which is unlike us because we get so wrapped up in our shannanigans that we always forget to capture as much as we can. Rev's telling a story, that means I have another hour to finish this entry...haha.... We ran over a bird on the highway and we all almost cried. that sucked....bad omen. then we came in the studio and tommy threw one dart at the dart board and hit the bull's eye, good omen. Who the f!ck knows.....tragedy winds up being a good thing, good thing turns to turd.....over and over. At the end of the day, the songs ROKK and the band is happy being here. I made 2 pitchers of white wine, white peach and grape sangria....with daffodil wine, pinot grigio.....eh, it looks better than it sounds. Hopefully it tastes good although in this band I could pour rubbing alcohol and everyone would be psyched.

Last night was quite possibly the best Fixer experience ever. Santos Party House was PACKED to the guts, the band was on fire and the crowd was there to PARTY. Backstage we were all chillin while the DJ's got the mood right. Balloons, strippers, dancers, WALL OF FIXER posters....I think I got a little video of that and we'll post it shortly on youtube.com/fixermusic. Ugh, as one might imagine the party rolled into today as I write this in my bleary eyed troll hunched demeanor as the sirens outside crush my skull like a penny on the train tracks. Ok, back to the show. It was streamed for those of you who tuned in, we thank you and felt your mojo through the magical wonders of the internet. It was also recorded, photographed, urine sampled and fingerprinted so hopefully people will continue to send us stuff. We'll post to our galleries and various websites as they come in. Just a F@KKing blast. The Party Death made me laugh as they all had a bottle of champagne, Jack Daniels and several other delights and then in unison said, ok, we have to go on like 5 minutes ago, I need a drink and then we'll be ready. Acey Slade rocked after Fixer and the Sex Slaves with fire and dancers and video were pretty.....well, put it this way, I turned into a Slave of Sex by the end of the night.
I cannot fully describe why the whole night was so awesome, in a nutshell Fixer was on fire, the sound was SLAMMIN', and the place was packed, period. Our whole set had magic in it, right from the first song I felt good, but somewhere in Tuxedo I left myself and joined the entire room inside a star, we all swallowed it, and then it exploded everywhere. That was lame. Ummm, still can't describe it. Ok, I'm done. Here's the Fixer set from last night:
Mixing In With My Blood
Dirty Girl
K.C.P.Q (Kinky Cockteasin' Prom Queen)*NEW
Dove*NEW
Corpse Estate*NEW
Tuxedo
Tell No One
FIXER will be recording these NEW tunes and the rest of an amazing album throughout the summer. I do believe there will be another NYC appearance in late July so stay tuned. Hell, stay tuned anyway...hehe. For a band that missed our last afterparty we went to several last night and I hope Rev made it home is all. Cheers to all the bands and performers and everyone who came out last night, it was the best show of the summer.
Peace. E
May 24, 2009 - Evan R. Saffer
Hey. Soooooo, writing continues in it's mysterious, cryptic and magical workings. We have really been pumping out some great tunes, all sorts of vibes. Some of them trippy, some punk, some ROKK!, some funky...hehe. We just did an interview for MUEN magazine which should be coming out soon and we discuss with Shauna the workings of the new music and how it's coming together. This is basically a time of reinvention and I'm excited to embrace change, that's really what this summer has become for FIXER. The summer of change. Anyway, keep checking back for that interview, it has some delicious tidbits.
I'm headed off shortly to a Memorial Day BBQ at Del's place (Sex Slaves). The hype is growing for our June 3 show with them and I hope you'll all be there. One thing I love about hometown shows is that we really get to mix it up. There will be DJ's, dancers, punk, rock and just the kind of New York City variety that keeps things exciting. No one wants to be beat over the head all night long with the same thing (not that there is another band on the planet like Fixer), so get there early and get excited......and oh yeah, get a ticket. Click on the flyer below for the advanced ticket sales link. I'm excited to get back on the stage with the Slaves and also our friends in The Party Death. They are friends of ours for many a year of rock. Our buddy Josh (singer and AKA London) was recently on an episode of Daisy of Love. Pretty funny to see him still causing drama as he turned down Daisy's offer to stay on the show, made her cry and basically stole the entire episode in my opinion. I remember one particular show we played with the Party Death several years back and Josh didn't show up. That's the kind of drama no one likes to live through but makes for good stories. haha. Anyway, hopefully they'll all be there on June 3 and I'm looking forward to some good times with those blokes 'cause they rock.
Some new photos from our show in Albany, NY will be going up shortly, courtesy of Kim Stock. You'll notice that we are occasionally slimming down the photo galleries and adding new ones. If you like any, be sure to save them otherwise they may be gone. Again, we want to apologize for the cancellation of our last show, however, I want everyone to know that we penned a glorious song of redemption based on the whole experience. So for those of you who were disappointed, didn't get a refund, or just plain pissed, don't fret.....something excellent always seems to come out of disaster in Fixerland. We've been super busy writing and re-writing our new crop of tunes. It's one of those anxious long weekends where things are moving like a silent movie in black and white. Good things are coming and happening, just below the surface. Stay tuned and keep spreading the good word of Fixer. Cheers. E
May 10, 2009 - Evan R. Saffer
Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's out there (smiles and hugs). We are in your debt forever, especially our own moms. The show at Silo rokked in Reading, PA. We played a few new tunes, some working titles included Are You Gonna Die and Kinky C@ck Teasin' Prom Queen. They seemed to go over really well and we'll be working new material into our shows here and there. Still plugging away in our rehearsal studio and booking and arranging various recording studio sessions to get all our ideas down. It's very exciting to hear the new tunes come together and reshape ourselves into this next album. Fixer booked back at Silo on June 12 for all of you who were asking, tell a friend.
Yesterday we all got together at a party for a new Cafe/Restaurant that I'm involved in....located in Brooklyn, NY called Isengaard. I think there will be many more Fixer appearances there but to say the least, it was a rager. About 6000 people showed up, an array of personalities, kegs, skate park ramps, transvestites, models, photographers, painters, performers, reporters and of course Me, Tommy, Rev and Adam. Really awesome party that lasted all day and all night. I think we took some photos that should be posted shortly. There will be an official opening in July, and you'll all be invited.
I spent the day on the water today with family and of course my mom. Windy but still beautiful and sunny, right on the bay on Long Island. I think I actually got some sun...oh no! haha. We watched the sun set on the water and ate BBQ, awesome desserts, fresh fruit, the works. Nothing too good for the moms. Good times, good food, very relaxing after an intense last three days with Fixer. This is a big week for us with 4 whirlwind shows ending at Irving Plaza in NYC with Buckcherry. I urge you all to buy advance tickets, it saves you money and guarantees that you'll get in. We're going to be playing the ultimate Fixer set and look forward to seeing all of you out and about. Love to all the mom's, you make our world go round and every day is children's day....except today....your day.
our love and eternal gratitude. Evan and the boys.

Orange County Choppers 10th Anniversary was a blast. There was over 14,000 people over the course of the day, blaring heat, choppers, hot rods, hot ladies, food, fun and rock. We were happy to finally meet all the bands and get down with everyone. I did a few radio interviews throughout the day and Fixer was out and about handing out flyers and meeting tons of new folks. We played a blistering set in the evening with several new tunes. Working titles included Are You Gonna Die, Corpse Estate, Dove, Sugarblonde and a few favorites off of Before the Sun. Thank you to everyone who came out for Fixer, people came from as far as Michigan to see us. All the bands took a tour of the OCC compound late last night and it is a VERY impressive operation. Special thanks to Joey and the gang for being so cool to us. We all chowed down together and then hit the hotel. haha. All the bands were on the same floor (Age of Daze, Earshot, Smile Empty Soul, FIXER) and we basically took it over......something like the move "Rockstar" only we didn't ride a motorcycle down the hallway. I think we were all a little more crazy than usual having been off the road for this long. Apparently several of the other bands actually flew in just for this event. The good news is, despite any shenanigans that went down, Fixer was invited back to OCC to play again today. However, 3 times as many people showed up and it was a serious clusterf@ck. So we hung out, promoted, talked on the radio a little more and split. Today was the "car show" portion of the anniversary although there were TONS of bikes there as well. The Amazing assortment of muscle cars (my favorite) and just the craftsmanship and gleaming pristine showmanship in the variety of collector's cars was a treat to see. A very cool experience and we're looking forward to playing OCC again in the future. We hooked up the whole staff with Fixer cd's because they were so cool to us and loved the set. Thanks to all our friends at OCC and everyone who came out. Next up, Fixer hits the road this week for shows in Baltimore, MD and Jacksonville, NC. Cheers. Evan
PS. Stay tuned to this page, we'll be making some last minute announcements on big shows and tours since we're hopping on a few things while we're at home. Recording begins May 9.
PPS. to anyone who witnessed the hotel episodes, mum's the word.
April 24, 2009 - Evan R. Saffer
Hey Folks. Yes, it's been a while since I've written and I've been gathering my energy and thoughts daily. Change is inevitable and while I know this, it's always difficult to embrace as something positive. The biggest and most remarkable change is that we've slowed down quite a bit with touring. First we thought we'd be in Australia this month, then it got postponed until September....the joy of rock n roll is you never know when and where or what is going on! Then we were considering several larger tours for April/May/June and something always seemed to get in the way. Despite these disappointments we have been writing feverishly and jamming in our subterranean digs. The beginning of the creative process is always a frustrating and scary one, is this good enough? How am I feeling? How does this sound compared to what we've done? I'm happy to say, however scary things seem to be, you get through it and we have a healthy amount of new songs that are very exciting to me......almost an entire album. With our time off management went ahead and booked some studio time for us in May. We're still going to be doing shows and some tours in the coming months, but I think we've embraced the creative momentum and it's full of energy. I know many of you have been asking us about return dates and tours, but you'll be happy we slowed down for a second to write and record when you hear it. We'll be playing some new tunes tomorrow at the Orange County Choppers 10th Anniversary Festival. Some awesome bands appearing with us and there will be plenty of Choppers rolling around for the motorcycle enthusiasts.....and TV cameras so keep your eyes peeled! Keep up your spirits, keep in touch with us, and keep coming to the shows. ESPECIALLY May 15th in New York City. Oh, and Fixer is on the cover of SoundMag this month. I'll post a blog on it shortly. Oh, and if you were holding off on buying a t shirt, necklace, hoodie or fresh and fun fixer panties, now is the time to pull the trigger!! www.fixermusic.com Cheers. Evan
April 5, 2009 - Evan R. Saffer
Had a party at my place 2 nights ago. RoKK N Roll! It was a blast to blow off a little after tour steam and just hang. I saw a lot of old friends and faces, funny though, some of the best conversation I had was me and Rev and Adam huddled in the corner talking about getting on the road. ha! No rest for the wicked. We're going to be writing and rehearsing this week for an extra special New York City F@CKIN blow out on Saturday April 11 at Crash Mansion. Click on the flyer for tickets. Saturday night, doors at 7, we're on by 10 sharp and we're ready to show you what we've learned on the BVS tour. Gotham Rocks presents a great lineup of bands, there will be big sponsors and drink specials along with the usual assortment of midgets, gidgets, fire-breathing wizards, cage dancing strippers, whippets, lizards, leopards, lichens, spiked punch, rum, drums, drinks, punks, pretty in pinks, hotties, gothies, grim, slim, ready to get pinned, exploding eye sockets, no hands in the pockets, rockets and roller-bladers along with the incendiary FIXER melting your soul with our ROKK! (try saying that whole sentence in one breath, after you pass out, think of how fun the show will be!)
in⋅cen⋅di⋅ar⋅y tending to inflame the senses: an incendiary extravaganza of music and dance.
Some big announcements coming soon, until then, we'll be doing some spotty touring the rest of the month, mostly northeast dates while we collaborate here at home crafting the next record. Be sure to check out www.fixermusic.com and buy some new schwag. If any NYC street teamers want to meet up, I'll be kicking' around the city this week, mostly the east village....promoting the show. We have flyers and posters and mucho duct tape to pass around (no taping up your friends, only the posters). Write us a message here and we'll catch up with you......Peace E
March 29, 2009 (last day of the Black Velvet Sessions Tour - Evan R. Saffer
Someone's pulling a gimp mask over my head. It's hard to breathe and strangely comforting in it's cozy isolation. Now Tommy's wearing the mask and holding my arms while my legs are being tied to a table. Now I'm being whipped, I'm hurting and laughing, like when you're being tickled. It's tortured in a not so innocent form. Now there is a 500 pound woman in a tu tu riding me (I'm dressed) while I'm being whipped, choked and smacked with a pink magic wand.
people we're staying with: "you guys want to see my girlfriend's dungeon?"
Evan (thinking he's talking about a wine dungeon) "sure, sounds good. it' is almost 4 am and we have 2 more shows, but hey, what's a few minutes to sample some good wine"
people: "great, she loves to show people what she's got, it's really interesting"
Evan (as we are walking through the house following She Devil Tutu): (inner monologue: "what the fuck? Where am I? I'm sort of delirious from the show and many nights of no sleep. we should really go. what the fuck? where are we? why is she showing me these costumes? This is definitely not wine. well, that is a cool hat. wait, gimp? waaahhht?! ummm, sure, put that on me. hmmmm, this is fun...hehe, wait, this is sick. oh fuck it. Rev certainly likes that wand. OW!@ who just whipped me?! OOOOWWWWW! someone is running a pizza cutter across my chest and slamming a wooden paddle into my ass. this is really hurting. AAAAAHHH!H! (this is where inner monologue becomes outer monologue).
Now there is champagne open and flowing down everyone's throat. Now Tommy's on the table, on me. "Hey, ok, untie me." No one is listening. Laughter, photographs, more whipping and screaming. Now I'm numb...my wrist and right ass cheek are throbbing. There's a chain a pressure on my left nipple like a clothes-pin. There is a new photo album titled "The Torture of FIXER". Pulp fiction meets Fixer.
Motorheads experienced a 2 hour Fixer sound check where Evan had a Christian Bale meltdown because after 1.4 hours sound man couldn't figure out my in ear monitor system. I apologize to everyone who witnessed that but as you can see, I certainly haven't gotten much sleep and it is the 17th time we've played the club with the same gear. Gineen followed me into the bathroom and filmed me putting on my makeup while I cursed into the mirror. Keep an eye on the youtube page should that leak onto the counter like an open tube of toothpaste. Last night I wanted to die, we played like we would. The whole tour has been awesome, and it was the culmination of a long trek, exhaustion, emotion and the biggest show of the tour (along with said breakdown). It's been 2 months and felt like 2 years. I stopped introducing Adam as the new guy after the first 2 weeks. I saw a lot of people filming, thank you always Michigan, Motorheads (soon to be RIP), and all of our fans everywhere along this tour. We'll be back again soon. Couldn't help book another NYC show while we were home. Kimmi, put that in your pipe and smoke it. We'll be on early, so don't dilly dally and get there. We'll be doing some random shows throughout April as we write and regroup. The next full fledged spanked out tour won't be until May. If it doesn't kill you it only makes you stronger. We survived, we're a band, we're a gang and we're friends. The Black Velvet Sessions Tour rolls to an end tonight with a special acoustic set back at Motorheads in Michigan Center, MI. It's an early one, get there by 8 pm the latest. For all of you who were asking, Black Velvet Sessions is a lyric in the song Hillbilly Heroin. Keep listening, good night. Evan.
March 26, 2009 - Evan R. Saffer
I'm sitting on a couch I've never been on, there's a low hum of music in the distance. A white and black bunny rabbit is sprawled out on my chest, cigarette and other smoke fill my lungs and two full size Native American dolls are sitting facing eachother at the table in the corner. I hear a high squeel from across the room. It's an unhappy cat, cowering in the corner as someone tries to pick it up. "It doesn't like it!" ~ unknown band member's vocie. I look down and the rabbit it staring at me, it's eyes are wavy and deformed, almost as big as it's head. The eyes seem to be growing and I'm falling into them. I can feel it's nails in my chest, I'm not in the mood to cuddle. Someone lifts the comatose animal off my chest and calls me an animal hater. I think to protest but feel more content in silence as Adam is holding a different bunny, this one black. Him the opposite of me, he hasn't stopped nussling the animals nose with his nose since he picked it up. Could be 3 minutes, probably more like 30 minutes.
Now I'm in another house. I'm at the house piano, which is playing like a house piano. Out of tune with that gravelly warm feeling to the keys, like an old friend. I start jamming, then playing another piano tune I hope makes the next Fixer record. People are there, listening, walking in and out, some talking, drinking, smoking........
We're in the pick up, I'm driving, we're driving through the woods.......no road, it's dark, grass, trees, bumps, bridges.......I'm going too fast......people are screaming.......STOP!
and then we're there.
I'm startled by gun fire. It's Adam and Rev out back shooting into the night. Sounds like a tank. People are running in the house screaming and telling us to shut the lights and hide, the police are coming. Are they here yet? BOO! AHHHHH! it's dark, we're all scared, we're tired, no one cares........is anybody out there? Master Evan R. Saffer

I haven't done laundry in God knows how long. As I continue to lose my personal effects, I have decided not to replace them. For example, if I continue to be unable to do laundry, I'm going to wear the same clothes for the rest of the tour, maybe several months as there is only about 11 days left of this tour. Good thing I found my phone so Mama Kin can keep in touch. We're in another hotel, which is a nice change from staying on floors. Some of the better shows throw that in for us. Adam is downstairs in the jacuzzi. Me, Rev and Tommy are in the room. We just watched video footage of the Christian Bale flipout, I cried like a baby from laughing. I couldn't breathe, this actor is funnier than the first time I actually heard the clip. Here's the clip if you want to piss your pants laughing. NO! NO!:
March 15, 2009 - Evan R. Saffer
Hey everyone. I'm feeling better these days and I found my phone. Yesterday was my birthday and I was very happy to be rockin' with my boys and all the awesome fans that came out to the show. Many of you travelled from other states to see us in Cinncinatti, OH and I thank you (Tracy, Hannah, Paige, Taylor, Cassie, Monica, Tera, Josh, Nicole (Coey), Deidre, Wendy and Ken....forgive me if I forgot anyone!. Special thanks to Kara who had a cake hand delivered to me at the venue in the exact replication of my microphone. It was very rockstar and we devoured it backstage after the show with friends and fans. I posted a picture of the cake under the strange foods album in our pics. We played a thunderous show, great lights and sounds and the show was taped. We're putting together video clips from shows on this tour and you can find them on our youtube page. We're setting up the link now, but I think it's already up on www.myspace.com/fixer_fans. Maybe you'll catch the part in the show where Tommy jumped off the drum riser and smashed his head into the ceiling bars and made his skull bleed. Didn't miss a note! We also jammed out Tell No One and did a little free form, lots of fun. The promoter came backstage before the show and actually asked us to play a shorter set since it was getting late. Unfortunately we wound up playing an extra long set, adding a new song "Sugarblonde" along with the jam in Tell No One. Normally, it's not our style, but hey, we headlined and when you have that kind of discipline to not get too banged up before going onstage, you need to jam and get the lead out. I think I saw his son front row, fist pumping as we melted his face off and he was macking on a blonde hottie....hehe...evil fixer...... Plus it was my birthday so we had to make it special!
The tour rolls on, some tweaks to the schedule but overall this has been one of the most successful and consistent tours we've ever done. You'll notice we just added a show with Sponge in Heath, OH. They are the band with that hit in the 90's "sixteen candles down the drain". I've always been a fan and this is the first time we'll share the stage with them so we're psyched. We've been doing photo shoots all along this tour so you'll notice some new shots here and there. Check the pics! We've also been writing a lot and playing some of the newer tunes at select shows, so don't miss a single one. Thank you again to everyone, friends, family, fans and cakemakers. I had an amazing birthday and feel very special. You all ROKK! my affection. Master Evan R. Saffer

I've been in a dark place. That's ok, makes you appreciate the better ones. I'll mostly likely turn those emotions into songs. Sometimes you just get down for no good reason, however, I'm already on the upswing. Fixer completed a whirlwind in Texas with Pandemic (awesome band and awesome guys). The highlight Texas show would have to be Foozie's in Baytown, thanks to everyone for being such an awesome crowd and buying all our gypsy treasures so we can survive! We have some new treasures coming your way, so stay tuned for that. Two nights ago we stayed with the lovely Megan in Beaumont, TX. I had the back room while the guys crashed out in the living room. I see there was a cute ferret in the cage in the corner of the room. Wonderful. I mean, they are cute but I'm from NYC and they all look like rats to me. Anyway, the thing looked tired and it was around 5 am. I was EXHAUSTED. The guys are all passed out, including our host, and I finally shut the light to sleep. Just then, it's like a signal for the ferret to escape. His tiredness evaporates and I see him pushing with all his might on the cage door. He's wedging his little ass in the swing and the door is about to pop open. I actually asked Megan if it would try to escape: "No, definitely not, he's a good boy". Uhhh....he looks like a professional to me. Anyway, I'm holding the cage shut, bleary eyed, and calling out to anyone......no answer. Finally the little beast decides to mellow. I shut the light again, sure enough, he sprints for the cage door. Now, I'm pissed. I ran out to the van in my undies, at twilight, and got my duct tape. I taped up the whole cage, he was going nowhere. Then I lay down again and the cat actually hops through an elevated hole in the door. I had to evacuate the cat and tape up the door as well. I finally got about four hours of sleep after half a roll of duct tape.
I think we had the best show of the entire tour last night in Covington, LA. Packed house on a Sunday night and the energy was dripping from the walls. We made a lot of new fans and friends. Unfortunately I lost my phone, probably dancing like a maniac and flinging my clothes for post to pilar. If you call me and someone picks up, have them mail it to management in New York, the address is on our profile. I'm in New Orleans now and this is one of my favorite cities of all time. I've already gobbled up many oysters (ups your sex drive exponentially) and crawfish, we've been here half a day. The insomnia set in nonetheless, probably because of my phone and dreams of ferrets. Actually I just woke up from a nightmare that I was in a haunted hotel...that was pleasant. Ghosts and random clothing in my room. No matter, we're off for three days and I'll be soaking up local culture. cheers.....psycho. Evan
March 4, 2009 - Evan R. Saffer
A lot has happened and as touring is more intense than ever, I have not had time to write. However, there is a new review and an exclusive road journal entry that were posted in recent blogs so check those out when you get a sec. We're in a new city every night and sometimes several nights seem like one night. We played an awesome set to a packed crowd in Tupelo, MS. Special thanks to all the fans there, Mary Bates (for a sweet hotel room) and Steve Drum at 98.5 for interviewing Fixer and having us play Mixing in with my blood and Down without it acoustic. I did vomit in his garbage can and I thank him for that, it was a VERY rough morning. NEVER arrive a day early at Tupelo, the southern hospitality is an understatement. Thanks as well to Benjamin's and all the sexy bartenders and waitresses for hooking us up and embracing our shenanigans so freely...hehe.
We did the acoustic performance and radio show in Tupelo, then played the show, hung out (as usual) and slept for one hour in the hotel. We were on the road like soldiers by 5:30 am speeding west for the gig in San Antonio, TX. It was a 14 hour drive and no one slept for 2 days. We played a great set in San Antonio spent some quality time site-seeing after catching up on some zzzz's. The Riverwalk was beautiful, we've been having tons of good times, laughing and hanging together. Saw the Alamo, and no one pissed on it despite some dares. Last night we were in tears watching Best of Chris Farley with April and Devra....thanks ladies!~ Tonight Fixer is in Laredo, TX in a hotel that feels like Desperado or Once Upon A Time In Mexico. We're a stone's throw away from the Mexican border and that's cool with us. Sunshine and t shirts while everyone in NYC is up to their balls in snow....haha.....we still love ya NYC, no place like home. I saw a picture of Brooklyn, it looks like old Russia where everything is poor and covered in white icy bliss. The tour rolls on and we're debuting another new tune on the road. Tonight will be the first appearance of Sugarblonde. Hope you enjoy it, we do. xoxo. Evan
February 22, 2009 - Evan R. Saffer
Holy Lord! Last night, ughyay!sheesh,let'er'roll!turnitdown,
noUP!wheresEvan? We always have strong crowds in the St. Pete/Tampa, FL area but last night was the biggest yet. Awesome crowd and good times. We were really tight and I was happy to see a lot of people who drove/flew in from other cities to see us. We played for just under an hour and encore'd with Home Again. I was backstage taking oxygen after a roaring Tell No One and I hear Tommy ripping his solo. I look over and he's standing next to me playing it from backstage. Very cool, then we walked about the 40 foot stage and slammed into Home Again until sweat, sex, blood and tears were dripping from every surface of the club, then we got off stage and licked it up. The party lasted(ing) until the wee hours. I don't remember all of it but I know it was good times because my face hurts from my sh!t eating grin hanging with all of you all night. There was a sweet bonfire with about 50 people from the show back at Charlie's place (thanks buddy). I was pretty hammered and I do remember walking over to the stereo and turning it up to 11 then walking into the bathroom. Then my cousin Larry walks over to turn it down and Michelle runs in and catches him with his hand on the stereo knob. Everyone got a kick out of him catching the blame...haha. He later found me on the side of the road sleeping, several blocks from the party. I'm happy my jacket has some reflective studs. Then we headed to another party, ugh, I think I'll skip that part. We drove home and as usual in Tampa, NOT before the sun. It was a total blast though. I do remember some amazing moments during the show and after where the four of us just came together and words did not have to pass between us. Things are good in Fixer camp.
The Pascagoula, MS show was cancelled, I found out this morning. That lets us get into Tupelo a day early and we just heard we'll be doing an interview with Mitzie D on 95.9 Mad in the morning. Here is the info if you want her to ask us any questions or request your favorite song. She's crazy like us and her interviews are always fun fun fun. 662-842-9595 ~~ 662-842-7625 or *95 from ya ATT cellular device... or drop an email madinthemorning@gmail.com And be sure to tell all your friends FIXER is coming to town!!
February 15, 2009 - Evan R. Saffer
Last night was a blast. Great venue and we will certainly be playing the Local again. Fixer did a photo shoot as soon as we arrived that will be on the wall of fame....how special. They hooked us up backstage with plenty of furnishings - 4 walls, a door, beer and water......we're set! haha. Thanks to everyone who came out, you all looked super sexy (the scorching Hannah announced us...merci). The show was videotaped again and we're hoping this will turn into some sort of bootleg live dvd (thanks for filming Horten!) World-class lights and sound. There was smoke coming from holes in the stage. I was relieved I didn't drop any of my articles of clothing on one as my effects seem to fly around the stage on occassion. We're off the road for a few days, and I'm happy because the afterparty got wild last night. Rev and Adam are still MIA...ha. Tommy Zamp flew out to Toledo this morning and is rumored to be making a special guest appearance tonight at Motorheads in Michigan Center, MI. He may quite possibly be sitting in with our fellow slags in Bobaflex who are headlining there tonight. Should be one hot ticket. ROKK! E
February 14, 2009 (Valentine's Day <3) - Evan R. Saffer
Happy Love Day to everyone. We just pulled into Marietta, GA after quite a drive. Rev got us lost and gridlocked in terrible traffic for an hour in downtown Atlanta. We had to kill him but then forgive him again...haha...that's how it goes. Finally we've reached sanctuary, staying with some close friends and we're getting ready for a big show tonight in Marietta, GA at the Local. There will be TONS of single people there drowing their sorrows in singleness looking for a quickie. haha. I think it will be a fun night for everyone, lovey couples included!
We had an amazing show in Spartansburg, SC (thanks Brandy). We made some new friends and ended up partying at this amazing lakehouse. Thanks to Cassie for letting us crash and treating us so well. You have the coolest place and the dogs were amazing. One of them is part wolf and had two different colored eyes. The other was a miniscule puppy that never stopped wagging it's tail. These dogs had samurai training as they never barked and were super friendly the whole time. My ideal pet....hehe. I'm sure we exhausted the whole house partying until sunrise.
Columbus, GA was last night and we want to thank Jose for shooting video for the entire show, hopefully we'll get that out there soon. It rocked. Also thank you to everyone who requested our songs at radio. They played Tell No One, Mixing in with my blood AND Hillbilly Heroin repeatedly during the day and we heard! Thank you Beth, Tim, Erika, Hannah, Page, Mallory and everyone in Jacksonville, NC that made our stay so much fun. Felt like a party every night and it was. Without fail we got the "one more song!" chant at Hooligans and we encored with Home Again. Good times and you all ROKK! Oh yeah, thanks for hooking us up Animal, you're our boy!
FIXER said goodbye to the Sex Slaves last night, as we won't be seeing them again on this tour. Del joined Fixer on stage for the Uh Oh's in Tell No One for a grand finale. Good times with you blokes, and we'll miss your slave-like lewd behavoir...evil grin. Fixer back at Sohos in Columbus, GA on tuesday for a special acoustic show...don't miss! First things first, tonitro come out and get ROKKED by Fixer, we're planning an extra special show for Valentine's Day. Tell a friend about Fixer and spread the love. xoxo. Evan
February 7, 2009 - Evan R. Saffer
Wild Willies was awesome last night. Well, overall the show was awesome. It was riddled with surprises, some good, some bad. Lets start with the good. We rolled in to a fairly packed bar that just kept getting more packed throughout the night. A lot of people traveled from far away to see us as well (shout out to Mark from Louisiana!). As soon as we loaded in we went to the downstairs/backstage area and there was a complete photo shoot set up for us. Photographers and backdrop and lighting. We did a very cool shoot and I can't wait to see those photos. We've been shooting a lot lately but this one was unexpected and we did some original things so i hope they come out soon. Also the sexy Suicide Girls were there dancing and hanging with Fixer most of the night. They hopped on stage and danced around for Dirty Girl. Thanks ladies!
Fixer took the stage around 11:30 pm and played a searing set. It was one of those nights where more people were in the room that didn't know us, so we really had to work for that crowd. There were tons of glitches too, like the mic and power going in and out for most of the set. Just bullsh!t that gets your head cranking in negative ways. In the end we were just happy to rock and we won that crowd, made tons of new friends (*thank you to everyone who wrote us, there were many), and re-learned the lesson that nothing is a smooth ride in rock n roll. Things ALWAYS go wrong, it's all about "how you roll" ~tuxedo. See everyone in Fayetteville, NC tonitro! E
PS We went back to the Flippen house and met some really cool DJ's who were scratching on their turn-tables. We all got a lesson and it turns out Adam James is a natural. Punk.
February 6, 2009 - Evan R. Saffer
Rock N Roll is all about ups and downs. It's a gypsy lifestyle where something always goes wrong. I think Fixer re-learned that lesson early in 2009. We had a phenomenal 2008 where we saw amazing growth and had searing shows almost every night. I think we learned we weren't invincible but if it doesn't kill you, it only makes you stronger. When Adam James came into the band we were psyched to not miss a beat, eager to get back on the road, and be as strong as we ever were. However, like I said, it takes time to be a "band" and there are no shortcuts. You have to work HARD and it's never about one good show. It's about the stamina to do it over and over and over again better than before and better than ever. Anyway, it's still very early in this tour but last night in Baltimore was the first show that this lineup felt like a "band". Ask anyone that was there. We were on fire again. We played amazingly well, great chemistry, all that jazz. In the end is was a really fun show to be at. We also want to thank and mention Uncrowned. There are some good bands out there on the road, but the attitude of who you are playing with and touring with is very important. These guys are cool and can share the stage with Fixer anytime. Some bands just rub you the wrong way, no matter how good they are, or how big they are, we don't give a shit. If you can play, good for you. If you can play and hang, good for everyone and we like you! We're a feel good band with positive energy and explosive live shows...that's our vibe. Good times in Baltimore.
We also spent the last three days with our friend and talented photographer Holden. We did a full out photo shoot with him in New York City at my loft and then he documented both the NYC show as well as the Baltimore, MD show. Holden, you can roll with us anytime bro. Keep an eye out for those photos, we'll be releasing them in the coming weeks. The tour rolls on tonight to Virginia. The Suicide Girls will be there all skanked out, passing out shots and presenting FIXER. I wore my slutty new purple t shirt for the occassion...hehe...evil grin. Peace, E.
PS. Attendance so far has been great, keep spreading the word and get people to buy or download the music.....it's all about the music and the show, and ALL of you being there with us!
January 31, 2009 - Evan R. Saffer
The first show of the Black Velvet Sessions tour was awesome. It was also the first with Adam James, our new bass player. We rocked to a full room in Albany, NY. We haven't been back to Albany since we opened for Godsmack at the Theatre (thanks Jason Keller at 103.1 and Down Without It being the number one requested song). Jason was there last night and got the crowd juiced up, announced our return and we came out guns blazin'. Was great to see so many familiar faces, it's been about 2 years! Thanks Albany area fans for sticking with Fixer and coming out in force despite the snow and ice. We kept you warm all night though, Fixer played an hour long set and really got out the lead. We hung our for a while in the bar before driving on the barely visible Taconic Parkway to celebrate until the wee hours. This morning Rev threw cold water on Adam while he was taking a shower. Nothing wrong with hazing the new guy a little, after all, this is the ultimate fraternity. Now we're chillin' in my dad's house, in front of the wood burning stove, getting ready to head to Hamden, CT for another long awaited return. So far so good, y'all roKK!
January 28, 2009 (5:37 am) - Evan R. Saffer
I've been up since 3 am. We're about to go back on tour soon so I suppose my insomnia is setting in again. My mind starts racing with all the things that I want to do, that need to get done, and I just can't relax. Once the HH wears off...no good. Rehearsals went well again today. Just a matter of time now, we need to keep playing. I'll be doing a rehaul of the entire photos section. I'm going to delete a lot of old stuff and start a new 2009 folder so if you have any favorites, now is the time to save them, because they'll soon all be gone bye bye. I cooked a sweet dinner this evening. Well, it wasn't sweet but pretty darn good. Fresh Talapia (which is fish). I glazed it with an oyster sauce and served cajun brocolli and sweet plantains (type of banana) on the side. Wash that down with some good old Cote Du Rhone (white wine) and it was delish. This dinner sounds a lot like my brain, completely scattered. You've got the asian influenced fish, the new orleans/cajun influenced veggie, and the tropical influenced fruit. Hung up more posters around the east village for the Webster show. One of them went in a vampire store. The guy wasn't sure he wanted to let me hang the poster until I told him we were all vampires. I had to prove it by biting off one of his fingers. Then he agreed and we got a sweet spot in the front window. Looks like snow here in dirty New York City. Fine with me, as long as I'm not driving in it. I'll be in the cozy cubby hole of a studio with the three other pirates in this band. Adam's thinking of getting a tattoo to commemorate his first tour with Fixer. Any ideas? I think he should get something original like Marvin the Martian, but riding a pony. Or perhaps Eyore from Winne the Poo. poo. haha.
January 26, 2009 (later the same day) - Evan R. Saffer
So I went to rehearsal, a tiny but very cozy heroin den lent to us cheaply by our friends in 13th Floor. It's those kind of favors that make rock n roll so awesome. Being on a shoestring budget we packed our gear into a pretty sweet rehearsal space in the east village. It has cool vintage tour posters on the wall, carpeting, black lights and just the right type of attitude to make us feel comfortable. We spent 3 hours in there jamming and sharing the same small percentage of oxygen jamming out the best of FIXER. Really a day well spent. Adam is sounding great and we're all feeling good with the tunes. We're rehearsing in the basement of the a hair salon so every 35 minutes or so one of the cute hair dressers wanders into the studio to use the bathroom.....hehe....evil grin. Good times! Rev was complaining that he couldn't read the font on this new journal so I made it bigger. I can't help it if he's blind. I was supposed to go to yoga tonight but I'm so spent after the gym and a full day of rock n roll that I'm crushed into my leather couch, with a nice cold beer, writing this. Fixer in the studio the rest of the week and this is going to be a great tour. I went out in the east village (freezing cold) hanging posters for the Webster Hall gig with Cane. What a pal, hung around to help me out. If any street teamers want to help us hang some posters we'll be hanging out in front of Arlene's Grocery at 5 pm tomorrow, so come and find us and bring your duck tape. I'll give you the posters. much love. Evan.
