The ukrainian band FireLake was formed in 1997 by Oleg “Flamer” Yavorsky and Oleksa Kaplinsky, both being inspired at that time by Geteborg school of death metal. The year later firelakers have changed the line-up and have started conquerin’ the metal stage with the power of melody power and the rage of death music. Shortly, the stage rose the white flag and the band has got a plenty of metalheads on the pikes of their art. In 1998 through 2000 FireLake was been renowned as the founder of Ukrainian melodic-death metal. Lots of fans, lots of great shows with the best of bands in a row – at GreatCommandment fest they share the stage with Unerase, Te Deum and become one of the most favorite bands for the Ukrainian metalheads.
The band’s name and logo has been firmly tattooed onto fans.. minds – FireLake's gigs were always fully attended, most of fans could recognize any of their songs in a few seconds. Instrumental works in “Marooned” describe the music and sound of that time; Stranger’s Prophecy and The Chosen One have totally formed the brand ..FireLake'. The band is loved by fans and they and encourage musicians for new achievements. The band is recodnised by theMass Media: it had got an invitation to RadioRocks, an interview published in “Ukraina Moloda”.
But in all ages the fight of a talent against life’s circumstances has been hard. The band has been overcome by difficulties. Thus, the vocalist Roman “Thorn” leaft the band, FireLake had no own studio and soon their march was stopped. No new songs, a long search for optimal vocals…
If you think that it was the death of a dream of the band’s founder, Flamer – you’re wrong. It was a time to think about priorities and directions of development: fire’s nature helps the band to resurrect like a Phoenix from ashes to life. Flamer invites a manager– Oleksa “Inerren” from Burial Crape band to optimize the FireLake’s artworks, reanimate the band's activities and adjust it to the new circumstances. FireLake’s Phoenix needed a new blood for reanimation – the next step to accomplish was to form a line-up. Rhythm of heartbeat was given to it by drumsticks of Dmitro Nazarenko (ex-Sarcasm), the blood of the band’s body was born from the bass of Sergiy “Dvuha” Dvuzhilny (ex-WitchHunter). Voice of FireLake transformed into the two registers – clean and gentle Olga’s voice and the aggressive drive of Vika’s growling. The vocal parts flows like a river – slow and easy on plains and devastating on mountain tides. That’s an artificial combination in Ukrainian music. And finally, Andrey (ex-WitchHunter) became another Firelake's hand. Since then FireLake returned to Ukrainian metal Olympia and always performed as a headliner or in solo programs.
While forming the line-up, the first album “The Temptation Journey” which included all of the tracks well-known by fans was recorded and published.
After this, band concentrated on stage work - more than 30 gigs all over Ukraine, brilliant show on Metal Head's Mission festival(+Napalm Death[UK], Dead Infection[PL], Mental Demise[UA], Cenotaph[TR], Ahumando Grenudjo[CZ], and more than 30 bands all over Europe), great gig with Darzamat[PL].
And, finally, band had an insight - for now the financial and organization tasks of the band is ruled by TAVRIDA.NET corporation.
The next page has been turned by probably the most attractive work in band’s history – recording soundtracks for the best 3D action game of theese days – S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl. It opened a gate into another dimension for band's talents and abilities – they have created an atmospheric hit driving a player into an apocalyptic reality. Musician worked hard in the studio to upgrade their ideas to a world-class level. And they did it! Now the FireLake’s tracks are heard by millions of gamers in the whole world!
After the studio session the band missing the fan’s energy has discharged their new brand program and yet unreleased tracks in Ivano-Frankivs’k on InfernoVoiceFest in february,2007, quaked the stages in Ukraine and Russia with the celts from SuidAkrA, butchers from Morrah and barbarian horde of Balfor band. Their self-improvement process never ends. New sound of FireLake consists of modern ukrainian melodic death, mixed with the best traditions of Swedish, Finish and Italian authorities of the genre with original brand ideas, fine gentle lyric voice of Olga and spicy growling supported by aggressive Vika’s performance.
Now their eyes are focused on European stages and they are ready for a trial by glory.
