"Just when you thought Australia was the kind of country that only produced weary rock throwbacks, and the future of all intelligent music was doomed to emerging exclusively from the British Isles, out of nowhere comes Flamingo Crash. If you need proof, check out the lead single (and Triple J fave) ‘It’s Mystery Music’, which, aside from offering up the oddest keyboard lick in town, throws in saxes, percussion, hand claps, girl vocals, boy vocals, close chord harmonies... it’s enough to make them eligible for the Andy Warhol convention. Add this to the fact that they’ve decided to created their own mash-up dialect ‘I hate the wind but I love kiss the breeze’ and you ain’t got no Strokes on your hands. The music is as cerebral as it is bemusing, and I can’t say many Aussie bands can lay claim to that trait."

What’s up with FLAMINGO CRASH?
A few years ago a band was formed “…with one foot entrenched in the past (Wire, XTC, Talking Heads, The Ex) and another in some ethereal neverland.” (Rave Magazine)
The band was noisy and quiet, liked sharp angles and soft shapes, played vintage instruments and brand new ones, liked enchanting rhymes and forbidden tales, loud drums and invisible sounds and most of all making music with everything they had until forever.
After releasing the Shoot the Lights Out 7” on limited edition green vinyl, the band recorded their debut album TRIANGLE ISLAND produced in Australia by Magoo (Midnight Oil, Regurgitator, Gerling) and mastered in NYC by Steve Fallone (The Strokes, Sonic Youth, TV on the Radio).
Recent overseas and Australian tours have further established Flamingos live gatherings of tribal beats space pop & frantic rocknroll, alongside sharing stages with some including The Go! Team, Maximo Park, Lily Allen, The Bravery, Love is All, The Presets & You Am I.
Flamingo have sparked whispers on the street, danced through your airwaves, and recorded an album that is as much about celebration as it is imagination.
