Csikszentmihalyi's Flow Theory, Flow Theory for short, is the latest music project by Terrill Thompson. Flow Theory's critically-acclaimed debut CD is titled Flavors, and features 16 tracks covering a mind-boggling array of musical genres and themes.
What's Up! Magazine says "Flow Theory hits it out of the park" and describes Flavors as "a crafty book of work that flows from song to song, keeping the listener involved and interested".
Since the release of Flavors, I've been writing new material, exploring self and sound, and have started playing in the studio again. I'll be posting some new audio notes, sketches, and demo recordings here soon.
Enjoy!

Well, that was what I was going to call my future band, but now that it's taken(!) I'll have to consider Social learning theory or Authentic Happiness or Seligman or some such thing :-) I have a psych degree too.
Yeah I think it's worth a read. It's pretty old now I guess (1975) and I think his ideas have developed a bit but I found the section on microflow interesting. It goes into some of the first studies done on flow that looked at rock climbing, dancing, chess etc... How did you come across flow theory?
Thank you Terrille. It is me on guitar. I like your music too - the guitar on the first song reminds me a bit of Slava Grigoryan's style. Late Night Talking is awesome too... nice and trancey! Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi is awesome - have you read beyond boredom and anxiety?
Bellingham, here I come! Tonight and tomorrow represent my first-ever musical performances back in the corner of Washington that birthed me from its loins. Hoist high the prodigal son! Hear the angel choir sing! Buy a compact disc!
Hope to see anybody and whomever there.
