The Fools barged onto the Boston music scene with their first single "She Looks All Right in the Dark". Known for their outrageous live performances the band quickly gathered a loyal and ever-growing audience. Their first national (and then international) hit record, "Psycho Chicken," was a parody of Talking Heads' Psycho Killer. With the signing of the band to EMI Records came the first two albums "Sold Out" and "Heavy Mental". A second single "Its a Night (For Beautiful Girls)" swung up the charts, followed by a cover of Roy Orbison's "Running Scared". Touring North America first with The Knack and then with Van Halen helped to place the band firmly on the national stage. European tours, including shows with Cheap Trick and Journey, resulted in huge overseas record sales. Back home again The Fools released their biggest album, "World Dance Party". The band then enjoyed MTV video success with their remake of Manfred Mann's "Doo Wah Diddy" and the title track video "World Dance Party". The album also racked up four big radio songs: "Doo Wah Diddy", "World Dance Party", "Life Sucks...Then You Die" and "She Makes Me Feel Big".
These days The Fools live and work at the Mansion in Cape Ann's picturesque seaside township of Ipswich, Massachusetts. And while they may spend more time living than actually working, all those late nights locked away in the studio wing have borne remarkable fruit in the form of, dare we say it: A New Album! Amazing, but true! See the "Update" below for more info as it happens!
Check Upcoming Shows for performance dates and if you get a chance, do not miss catching the legendary Fools live. The mix of great music performed by uniquely talented musicians with a hefty helping of comedy comes together in an unmatched charm that has been lighting up millions of smiles over the years. And it all keeps getting better with time. Experience The Fools and smile for yourself.

Looking forward to your Beachcomber show this summer. I hear Jimmy is having a lot of us "Old Timers" back. I've been recording with Enzo from the Dead End Kids, and can you believe it? They're doing a show too. See you there. Thanks for the ADD.
So that's where I left it! Damn; it was all scratched up anyway...hey you Fools have fun at the point; and if you can't come down to play for us in DC, I'll uh, just have to play w/my...hey do y'all still tour w/that duct tape gee-tahr, or do you just use it in the studio nowadays?
hehehe I first found one of your CDs (Rated XXX) in a box of shit left over from someone's storage space and I listened to it every day. I was probably 14 years old at the time. Well, my friend broke my CD and I've been looking for your music ever since. Finally found it though!! Rock on!!
I finally got to see you guys May 9th at Deb's. I had a blast!!! Loved when Mike ripped off the suit! Not to mention getting Rosetta to finish the song... LOL
Hey man, you guys sound great for sure. Our group (at the timethe players) like many others, used to back you guys up at the Beachcomber on wally beach 25 years ago. It is an inspiration to see you all still love to perform. Peace. Michael Richard
