FOREMOST POETS aka Funk-Master "jOHNNYDANGEROUs" (Newark, New Jersey Bound), was born in Philadelphia, USA. He has been reshaping Dance, Funk and Hip-Hop into poetic motion through his ethereal acoustic interpretations and blends of future funk with the spoken word. The 1990s introduced the hypnotic karma of jOHNNYDANGEROUs was released and the hit single "Reasons To Be Dismal" thrusted his sound into our dimension.
The Foremost Poets name first single originated in 1990 with the release of the single "Reasons To Be Dismal" on the independent label called Nu Groove Records. A few years later, Johnny dropped "Problem 13 (I Beat That *itch With A Bat)" in 1993 and orbited into the Dance Music Hall of Fame. Since then, the name carries great respect in the underground House world throughout Europe and U.S. Dance scene.
When Johnny's striking voice appeared on his release "Moonraker", reciting rhythmical verse, he set a new standard for DJs around the world. His legendary accapellas, singles & remixes are the rave, sending crowds into a hypnotic frenzy as soon as the needle drops onto the late 90s hits "Please Do Not Be Alarmed", "Do Not Try To Bend the Spoon" & "Its About That Thym (BAR A THYM - KERRI CHANDLER)" - all of which has earned him notoriety in Club circles around the world. Johnny has gone on to display his eclectic production skills in the R&B, and Hip-Hop arenas.
Traveling the path of many award winning musicians, Johnny continued pursuing dance projects, while collaborating with a wide variety of artists, producers and remixes including Redman, Govna, SWV, Total, Missy Elliot, Common, Erikah Badu and Kenny Bobien throughout the 90s. Today, the "FUNKMASTER" continues to innovate while currently dropping some of the wickedest white Label Remixes of Rick James, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Enya, Dr Buzzard, The Peech Boys, San Ilya, Outkast, Jazmina & others yet to match.
In 2007, he relocates to Philadelphia, USA to assist in a community project called The Arts Garage, which is well known for it's community events, plays, shows & activism. Since then, in 2008 & 2009, Johnny has currently joined the team with the Maestro & Grammy winner "LOUIE VEGA" of Vega Records with their Collaborated songs entitled "NEW YORK CITY" & "LONDON ROOTS" keeping the Dance world on edge for what's next to come. Although the journey has been long, the foundation is deeply rooted.
He currently has single collaborations with Kenny Dope, Terrry Hunter, Monique Bingham, Kenny Bobien & DJ Spinna. His most recent collaboration is with "Dirty Sole" producers; Dan X (Chicago, USA) & Richie Heller (Los Angeles, USA). The Album will be released in the summer of 2009.
