My name is Scott Fuller and a I compose, sing and play guitar for Forthangel. I started this band about 2 years ago in August of 2007. I was always writing and composing my own music and wanted to do more than what i was able to do on my own. I wanted a bigger sound than just me and my acoustic and a mic. I wanted people to feel the music in there chest not just hear it. Also my brother Mike (18years old at the time) was always bothering me about starting a band so i eventually gave in. Down deep i had always wanted to create a rock band but i was so intimidated by the ridiculous amount of music out there.I didn't want to just be another band. So then came the quest for 2 much needed musicians and believe it or not it did not take long. Even tho we live in a small town just south of Canada in one short month we had a Five piece Rock band.
The road that ForthAngel has gone down has not always been the smoothest of rides and has definitely not been easy. There was so much to learn about so many things it was definitely a learning experience. After 2 years of playing everywhere from little small town bars to some of the biggest clubs in the twin cities. From Canada to Iowa and Wisconsin to North Dakota we have developed a live show that aside from Pyrotechnics and hearing the roar of a crowd of 15 thousand people, competes with some of the best bands out there. Al tho we have learned a great deal in the 2 years as ForthAngel, im not naive to the fact that we still have a lot to learn but we are proud of what we have accomplished. What have we accomplished? I would say that at least the last 15 shows we've played, the response we've received is nothing short of surreal. We played a show at the Rock in Maplewood MN sponsored by 93x called the Loud and Local music Festival. Over 60 bands would perform over the course of 3 days and so lets just say we stuck out out! Our set started at 8:15 and by 8:45 the building was full of screaming newly converted ForthAngel fans. It was so awesome! We had never even played in Maplewood before. There were at least 60 fans that had driven over 5 hours to watch us play a 40 mn set. Our first self titled ep has been discovered and reviewed by several websites including Melodic.net and emerge.com. We have a growing fan-base that reaches across the states and even overseas. The other day i received a message from a kid in Munich Germany who wanted to know when we were going to come to his neck of the woods, so he could see us live and get our autographs. lol
I know this sounds cliche but i really think we have developed a sound all our own. Our music is poetic and thought provoking, accompanied by a unique combination of heavy low end guitar and breakdown’s, mixed with the sharpest and brightest melody's that are woven together and designed to not be forgotten. Over time we have learned to put on a high energy, jaw dropping rock show that hits you in the chest and leaves you feeling bullet proof. All though you would have to witness this for yourself by seeing one of our shows, but you leave feeling like you've really experienced something more than just another rock show and will probably never forget it.
Al tho were not the most well known band in the world and still have a long ways to go. I feel like we are growing and I feel like we are succeeding. We may not have our pictures plastered on toilet paper and backpacks but i believe that ForthAngel will make it to the top and I don't plan on stopping until we do. We already have some of the coolest fans in the world hands down and to me having people that love your music and believe in you is definitely worth more than having your picture plastered on the strangest of places. One more thing i want to throw out there. Our songs are written about things I've learned in my personal experiences with the struggles and hardships of life. We have always tried to send a positive message thru our music. I think there's enough bands writing about stuff like suicide, violence and sex that then world doesn't need another one. Well that about sums up who and what ForthAngel is all about.
As far as news goes, we do have some big things in the mix right now. On October 19th we will begin recording our second ep. I really think we've developed our sound and I think you all will love it. To all of our fans family and friends out there we want to thank you so much for all the love and support you've shown us. We truly appreciate it. Thank you so much. From all the guys
We love you.
