In the chaos and rubble where the World Trade Center once stood, an unforgettable image of hope - Three firemen raising the American Flag. Standing defiantly against the gray and white landscape of devastation, these dust covered men and the vivid red, white and blue Old Glory instantly became a symbol of American patriotism. Franklin's photo of these three heroic rescuers--Brooklyn-based firefighters Dan McWilliams of Long Island, George Johnson of Rockaway Beach (both from Ladder 157), and Billy Eisengrein of Staten Island (Rescue 2) - also became a global message that Life, and America, would go on.

Here he is on my shoulder, he likes perching high! He likes good things to eat. This morning I gave him a green grape and a cherry tomato - he seemed to be perplexed on which one to eat first! So he nibbled on both lol He cant have chocolate, but seems to know that if we like it so much - why dont we share it with him! When I pet him, he chitters and eyes bubble, so it appears, but really he is quite content and happy I am near! Hug You!! Monika - Ode to a Rat Always poking, always peeking, Climbing, jumping, sometimes squeaking, Twitching whiskers, cunning faces, Hiding in the strangest places! Nibbling here and napping there, Always finds the time to spare A fuzzy 'kiss' upon my cheek. Sometimes I wish that you could speak! Bright eyes shining full of love, A furry gift from up above. Always glad to have me near. Such a treasure! What a dear! Folks can have their cats and dogs, Horses, snakes, and even frogs. For me you stand out from the rest. Been pretty busy here, including my teen with chicken pox, but I say better now than when school starts, she has healed and doing well! (Me too!) lol Several years ago I discovered African Kitamu coffee and have enjoyed it ever since. I adore it's strong nutty flavor, and nearly cannot begin the day without the dear stuff! lol I especially enjoyed some today, and thought to stop by and say hello, and to wish you a great weekend! Hug You!! Monika - A cup of coffee shared with a friend is happiness tasted and time well spent. Thank you for your coffee, seigneur.
