Thrash/Heavy Metal
We have since taken a slight change since recording our demo. Our new material is alot different than anything from "The First Assault" after being influenced predominantly by both Thrash and Progressive metals.
Fragmenta was formed in April 2007 in Adelaide, South Australia.
The lineup included the still original members guitarist/vocalist
Duncan Fisher, guitarist Zac Backs, bassist Mike Ward and drummer
Cam Hynd.
Some of Fragmenta's influences are Thrash Metal (especially evident
on the first CD), Progressive Rock/Metal and Death Metal. Some Jazz is also noticeable (particularly in Zac's lead technique and clean passages).
Fragmenta made it's debut on the stage on the 8th of December 2007
in front of a large, enthusiastic crowd at the Underground, opening
for long time friends and supporters Asphyxia. Some other noteable
apperances include Scorcherfest 2008-2009, Carclew's Off The Couch
shows and at some of Adelaide's biggest bands' CD Launches
throughout 2008. Those bands included Double Dragon, Truth
Corroded, Closed Casket, Octanic and Asphyxia.
In Dec 07/Jan 08 Fragmenta self recorded CD which they titled "The
First Assault" with 3 tracks. This demo was available for purchase
at shows through the band and has since recieved moderate airplay
on local and international radio pragrams (Powersurge, Eggs & Kegs,
Autopsy Report) but has since been available for download for free
on the band's myspace website. The song 'Black Master' from the CD
appeared on the compilation 'Kill City Volume 6' by Californian
company '272 records'.
In mid 2008 they recorded a single 'Merchants of Doom' which
appeared on the compilation CD 'Downtown Metal' by Quickstar
Productions (a company from Baltimore).
Fragmenta have shared the stage with many other well known
Australian metal bands such as Double Dragon, Truth Corroded,
Closed Casket, Black Like Vengeance (from Victoria), Skintilla,
Octanic, Blood Mason and Asphyxia
Fragmenta are due to enter the studio to record a debut album May
11, 2009.
