“Jesus Blesses All the lil Rockstarz,” is Frankee Razor's motto and a blessed Rockstar he is. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, growing up in Cleveland, Ohio and Newark, New Jersey, the adolescent rockstar was always odd man out. He dressed funny, walked funny, mumbled frequently, and was generally an awkward kid. Nonetheless, the intense star within Frankee Razor always shone brightly, despite the constant ridicule from his peers for being “different”. When all the “normal kids” were playing basketball at the local park, he would regularly be found at home locked in his room “slash” mini recording studio, consisting of a karaoke machine, a pen and a pad. He would write and produce original songs for his elementary school rap group, Thriving Claws, for hours on end; bypassing homework, play time and sometimes family dinner.
Whether singing, dancing or acting, Frankee Razor excelled, much to the glory of God because no one could have ever imagined that this weird outcast would ever break out of his awkward shell and succeed on the stage. Talent competitions were pretty much the touchtone of his youthful years, from winning numerous NAACP Competitions to booking several Broadway and Off Broadway showcases to conquering every elementary school, middle school, highschool, and collegiate level talent show from Ohio to New York. Ultimately, it was “the Cadillac, the Rolls-Royce, the Granddad” of all televised talent shows, American Idol, which would prove to be the catalyst for his current success in his young adult career, validating his credibility as a true star in the making.
Already a seasoned performer, Frankee Razor, born Justinn Waddell, quickly slid up the ranks to defeat millions of talented hopefuls to make the coveted finals in the first season of the top rated smash "
American Idol". Fans haven't ceased to chatter over his unique, yet gripping and enthralling performance on American Idol, as he often receives fan mail & emails from adoring fans, begging for more from this young rising star. A true fighter despite the rejection, this teenage American Idol pioneer initially refused to allow his departure from the 1 rated cable television show be the end of his career. Upon his return home, he dropped out of school, moved to New York and pounded the pavement to ride the wave of his small American Idol fame; landing a recurring role on MTV's “Social History of Hair”, a feature in US Weekly's “Style Star Section”, and 2 fully paid though never released, Converse and H&M ad campaigns. As years past and other seasons of American Idol aired, Frankee Razor's singing, acting and dancing gigs dwindled. He began performing at NYC and Atlantic City resorts, clubs, and casinos just to support himself, but intense depression was beginning to set in.
“Life after American Idol was tough, being thrust into the limelight…then to have it taken away was the hardest time in my life” said Frankee Razor during an interview with Idol Radio Show host Sir. Darryl. The young, heartbroken singer tried to shake the disappointment, but it soon turned to pain as he fell into the New York Drug and Alcohol scene, seeing it as his only escape. Frequently sleeping on the streets until the wee hours of the morning, regularly surrounding himself with local prostitutes and drug dealers, Frankee Razor saw his dreams crushed on national television, in front of 40 million viewers and felt no hope for the future. “I was caught with my pants down, past out from drinking. Asked the Lord how I got here. What was I thinking…” is a line from his acclaimed single “Zip Up My Pants”, describing the shrill turning point the tormented boy experienced to reach that inevitable crossroad of choosing Life or Death. It was the prayers of kid Razor's mother and grandmother, who are his spiritual leaders, and the constant support from his family, friends and fans that helped to get Frankee back on track. “Follow the light!” Prophetess Dannie Zellous instructed him during an intense prayer and meditation session and it was just the sign Frankee Razor needed, giving him “the balls” to move from NY to LA. With only 1 months notice, the fearless risk taker vanished to the city of Dreams, the place where his high profile entertainment career began on American Idol. With faith in God and a new self determination, Frankee was ready to carve out his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Frankee Razor has the industry buzzing and his vigilance, compelling songwriting ability, and undeniable talent has quickly positioned him as Hollywood's most promising, young rising stars. Hitting the ground running, his sincere charm and electrifying stage presence has led him to share stages from LA to ATL with the best of the best in today's music industry. He has held his own, either performing with or opening for such world renown hit makers as: Faith Evans on New Years Eve, Kelly Clarkson, Mario, Neyo, Keyshia Cole, Avant, Tank, Joe, Tyrese, Teddy Rielly, Aaron Hall, Jon B, Brian McKnight, Jamie Fox, Queen Latifah, Shanice, Chante Moore, Sean Paul and most recently, Tina Marie. Frankee Razor has also co-headlined the "RnB Live" Tour Showcase with R&B singer, Eric Benet, receiving high esteem from club going fans and bonafide industry veterans alike, such as Eddie Murphy, Cedric the Entertainer, Mc Lyte, Doug E. Fresh, Wanda Sykes, Tony Rock, Magic Johnson, Suge Knight, and Dennis Rodman, as they are brought to their feet night after night during his epic, soul-stirring performances.
Moving to California, overwhelmingly proved to be the best decision for the self proclaimed “Free Spirit”, as he receives weekly invitations to appear on high profile Red Carpet Press lines such as the 2007 ASCAP Awards, or the 2007 and 2008 BET Awards, and also the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, where he caused quite the stir for his innovative, edgy personal style. His flair for fashion is constantly garnishing comparisons to Lenny Kravitz and Prince by Publicists, Paparazzi, and various entertainment bloggers. His charismatic persona and innate ability to make people fall in love with him soon landed him an offer to host his very own radio show on the acclaimed All Digital Radio Network. Seeing it as a chance to increase his internet visibility, he accepted the position and swiftly went to work securing in-depth, private interviews with Ice Cube, WC, and Big Boy from Power 106 (Los Angeles) at the famous Capital Records building. Frankee was personally invited to conducted candid, backstage interviews with Coolio, Elephant Man, Spraga Benz, and Shaggy at the 2007 Long Beach Reggae Festival. The radio show also afforded Kid Razor the monumental, humbling experience of spending time with Academy Award Winning Actress, Jennifer Hudson in the studio as she recorded her Grammy nominated self titled debut album, as Frankee amorously notes “JHud is an awesome dear friend, and I pray for her continued safety and success.”
Frankee Razor's radio show didn't signify the end of his music career. The experience, rather, facilitated his dreams and opened other doors that broadened his scope of appeal within Hollywood, in that he was recently tapped to do the original score for a provocative independent film called “In the Closet” by Biblical Films. The Feature Film won the San Diego Film Festival with Frankee Razor winning for best composer. This blessed the young man with his very first IMDB Credited Award and a lot to write home about.
2009 is shaping up to be the Year of the Razor! Newly teamed with super producer, singer, songwriter Joey Sykes, Frankee Razor has produced some of his best, most stimulating work to date, which marked a 6 month, self-induced departure from the popular “paparazzi filled” Hollywood social scene. The intense artist has been hibernating in the studio brewing his debut masterpiece tentatively titled, “Frankee Razor “ur local Hip Hop Jimi Hendrix: Urban Rock Movement”, and early releases have been striking a chord with listeners young and old alike. “Like myself, Joey is a rockstar, once signed to Elektra Records. So it is expected that our musical collaborations be prolific in scale and of epic proportions,” says an excited Frankee during an in studio interview with Real Talk Radio. Whether singing about the current American Recession on the awe inspiring classic, “Peace, Love n Happiness” or wailing about the Woes of prostitution on songs like, “Shopping Spree” or speaking the truth about his abusive, personal exploits with Sex, Drugs and Rock n Roll post the American Idol fame on future classic, “Zip Up My Pants”, Frankee Razor remains devoted to God yet true to himself, “U ain't gone hear me singing bout no bling til I got some…” once passionately stated by Frankee Razor during an interview with Ryan Seacrest.
The mature yet vulnerable Lil rockstar's stained past, public admittance of alcohol abuse and sexual promiscuity make Frankee the epitome of modern edge. Having achieved 1 full year's sobriety, Frankee Razor is always ready to tackle new challenges. The same fearlessness that led him to uproot his life from NYC to LA with 23 dollars in hand, is the same fearlessness that led him to jump on Academy Award Winning Actor, Jamie Fox's VIP table during a Live televised showcase. That same relentless, passion propels Frankee to plant kisses on the girls with melted hearts in the front row of his shows because he gives everything onstage in hopes of building a close connection with his audience. One can never chart what exciting things Frankee Razor will do next, which ultimately testifies of his ability to stay relevant in this ever-changing world of celebrity. His spontaneity roused a successful yet up and coming Production Company, (Colsac.org) headed by Lamont A. Coleman and Dannie Coleman-Smith, enough to follow him around with a full film crew in tow for 1 year, thus spiraling “The Making of Frankee Razor” Reality Series. It is a gritty though touching, autobiographical look at the life, times, and rockstar exploits of Frankee Razor “ur local Hip Hop Jimi Hendrix”. (

“The way Frankee is approaching Hollywood, his sex appeal, and his subsequent film project, documenting it all, has an uncanny similarity to Prince in his early days of Purple Rain” insightfully mentioned by Alonzo Robinson, Senior Creative Director of ASCAP. With the constant comparisons to Prince, it is only befitting that Frankee have something like Prince's “Purple Rain” to chronicle his struggles along the Hollywood trail to stardom. “This is a gritty tail of life post American Idol and the inevitable Sex Drugs and Rock n Roll that follows. It has HBO, Showtime, BRAVO, BET, MTV and VH1 written all over it!” exclaims the Urban Rocker in a recent blog to his numerous online followers.
Mr. Razor never had it easy, he didn't come from money, he has no successful relatives in the business, and he was given no handouts in his journey to conquer the music industry. Remembering the days when his mother struggled to provide a roof over his head and food on the table, Frankee knew in his heart that his star was destined to rise through all the obstacles. An avid reader, Young Frankee was given a bible for Christmas one lowly year, it being the only gift his divorced mother of three could afford, and through it he learned about faith in Jesus. Now, it is that very same undying, gut wrenching, stop at nothing faith that endows Frankee Razor with an insatiable drive to be the next living music legend, carrying on the Legacy of Hendrix, Marley, Prince, and Kravitz. “I want to be the Voice of Hope for this generation,” says Frankee Razor, who is just a boy with the belief that anything is possible.
